Just a really nice place! Pretty with a small lake that allows for paddle boards kayaks and the trails are in the trees enough to keep much of the sun off of you. Going to be one of my favorite places for sure!

Beautiful trail. Went up to the right for a slower incline and down the left for a different beautiful view.

Fun trail. Not marked the best, but it lead to more adventure. Lots of up and down so more climbing than expected but I’d hike it again

Beautiful!

Love the rock climb.

Surrounded by beauty!!! Some spots with great views too. Very rocky terrain, we called it “ankle breakers”. I’m definitely glad I wore my high top hiking boots. No one got injured but could’ve definitely been possible. Saw so many horned lizards aka horny toads. They were small and adorable!! Also a tons of beautiful butterflies. Some wild flowers and just an array of trees!!! And cactus here and there. Inclines were just right not too strenuous and was able to take breaks with shade. Would love to come back to see the waterfall!!

I was skeptical about hiking this trail as I haven’t hiked in awhile, but I figured it was short! Not too bad for a couple in their mid 60s with 2 small dogs. Not well marked and several of us commiserated along the way, plenty of locals on the trail to ask. Half the loop is paved, but STEEP! We were advised to start out to the right and do the loop counter clockwise; so we were going down the steep section (reverse if you’d rather do steep going up). Beautiful views!

My second time around and I still need my map to follow the correct path. Still a great hike with awesome view!

I'm excited to do the full loop next time! We went counterclockwise, starting the trail where the gate is on the west side of the forest road. We took that all the way to where it crosses back with the road further south, then walked back along the road to our car. That was a little more than half of the full loop. Beautiful, lots of shade, VERY well marked. Many signs letting us know we were still on #384, with arrows clarifying direction. Parts were hard for me but each hard part was pretty short lived, but be warned if you have below average balance, certain spots are slick. There is no way I would do the full loop clockwise, because there was a section we went uphill for awhile, and when I looked back, it would have been risky for me to go back the same way downhill. I would need hiking poles. I'm quite out of shape, many probably find this trail on the easier side. I look forward to a return to this beautiful section of forest, will also camp here soon.

Nice little challange❤️ took longer than expected because you really have to stop and let the beauty take you away. TAKE A MAP IF YOU’re NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS TRAIL.

I loved this little trail! I didn't start recording until halfway through on accident lol... Even though there were some people here the trails secluded around the lake so you feel like you have the whole lake to yourself... theres some off shoot trails that are worth exploring, I found wild blackberries and grapes just off trail mmmmmm lol... the temp was high 70s but felt much cooler by the water...

Great trail, went counter clockwise, first 1.5 miles had a steady to at times steep climb; however, once beyond that ascent, the hike was moderate to mild. Absolutely had to use AllTrails gps or topo map to determine trail bearing and direction.
