Great trail for beginners or seasoned hikers. Great scenery and away from the city heat of Phoenix.

New favorite!

Good workout. Went counterclock-wise to the right. Nice incline for cardio. Talked with a local hiker who told us the descent on the backside was steep and slick. We chose to return the same way as we went up.

Great hike! We went counter clockwise up the more gradual incline to the lookout tower and then down. There are a couple tables and a toilet at the top. It's worth going the extra distance up to the tower and reading through the journal. Besides the length and the elevation change its really a realitivley easy hike and well maintained trail that is well marked. We only came across 5 or 6 people so plenty of soltitude for being so close to town.

It was about 5 miles for us.. but switched off to Peavine trail on the backside and skipped the last lakeshore trail

You do need good shoes and water.

White Dots very helpful but hard to see in places and easy to get off on an Ad Hoc trail if distracted. Some of the white dots are obscured and in other places a bit inconsistent ..i.e a bunch in one pace then spaced out a bit too far in other places. Map is good. GPS is good. Better in morning - cool ....er ... we did rock stuff first than flat trail out...

Good hike. Rocky but slick loose gravel. Nice photo ops.

Took us 3 hours for three, fit adults. Got off the trail a few times, a bit confusing how they all connect and harder than moderate for sure

Easy trail to follow and nice walk

This is an okay trail when dry but the ground is filled with burrs and isn't too dog foot friendly. Evening hikes are very buggy.

Definitely not an easy hike! Very challenging, but so worth it! The views are awesome :)

We loved this trail. It was moderate. Some real pretty areas. The view of Watson lake was fabulous. We went on down and kayaked for a while. I am not sure if there is always rentals. We got lucky.

Incredible beauty around ever turn. I camped and hike the next morning.

Really fun ride. Lots of loose rock and steep climbs. Technical down hill.

Great trail. Well marked. Definitely need good footwear. Awesome views at the top.

Beautiful views at the bluffs, nice rocks to climb on. Beautiful waterfall below dam. Not hard, definitely moderate unless not in shape. Areas away from bluffs are flat and wide. My only complaint is that in some areas the white dots are hard to find, and used for multiple paths, so very difficult to find the way. Bring water - I saw so many people who were wishing they had brought more. I didn’t park by the humane society, but parked up at the Park - faster access to the really beautiful areas.

My dog loved this loop trail, it was one of her first longer hikes. The birds were beautiful. I’m glad I got to go before it gets too hot

Need plenty of water, electrolytes, hat, toilet paper, grippy hiking shoes, and snacks. There aren't water stations to refill so pack up or restrooms. Moderate trail for those who aren't newbies and hard for those who need a little assistance. There will be spots where you'll need to climb on all fours from how steep it can get. I can't wait to go again!

great hike with amazing views once you reach the top. I stared right around 7:00 on my way up only saw one couple. on my way down there more hikers heading up.

Fun hike! Pretty easy, has some good views and shady parts of the trail.

Solid hiking spot, very popular mountain biking spot also.
Trail easy to follow, moderate rating is accurate, nice payoff at the end.
Saw a number of colorful birds, and a deer.

Excellent trail with awesome scenery. If you are looking for a good workout this is the trail for you. Defitnley on the hard side with a lot of steep climbs. Will go back for sure.

This trail was amazing. Shade from tree tops complicated and an amazing work out. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this trail.

Great hike! Boulders were fun but not terribly difficult. A little tougher than what I expected. Scenic views. Follow the white dots for the more challenging hike.

A little harder than expected but a great ride in the pines. A little bit of traffic for the first mile then all alone on the trail

Great workout! This is my favorite hike when I only have about an hour.

Go left at the beginning for a slow, steep hike up. Continue on the loop for an easier descent. With kids, under 10, the loop takes about an hour and a half. Up and back down the steep side is about 45 minutes to an hour for the typical adult.

Great hike. We went clockwise (right) on 95. It was perfect. Lots of shade.

Hot today but well covered with shade!

The trail was really beautiful, but not clearly marked the farther you get down. Still fun and totally worth it! We went at the beginning of May and there were a few people on the trail too.

Just hiked this trail for the first time and i really enjoyed it. Taking the right side up is definitely easier then taking the left side up. Trail was really easy to follow well maintained and marked. Not really any great views from the top but if you're into forest hiking then this is the trail for you. lots of shade. even the ridge line is really wooded. I did the entire loop in 4.5 hrs that was with several breaks and a 40lb pack. 32oz of water was plenty for me. There is parking right at the trail head with restrooms and i believe there's no fee to park. but i could be wrong. I was dropped off. But yeah it's a great hike and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Oh yeah. one more thing. the creeks were dry. (hike date 5-5-18)
