Great trail for beginners or seasoned hikers. Great scenery and away from the city heat of Phoenix.

Good workout. Went counterclock-wise to the right. Nice incline for cardio. Talked with a local hiker who told us the descent on the backside was steep and slick. We chose to return the same way as we went up.

Had lunch at the Cafe today and then a leisurely walk around the lake. It was 94 degrees so it was a little hotter than usual, but it was just as beautiful as it always is. Love this hike every time

West half of the trail is paved - so easy for all ages. Bald eagles almost always on dead tree snags to the east and can be seen across the lake. Benches along trail on west side of lake. Lake is beautiful - picnic tables and bbq’s on south. Flush toilets on north side of lake. East side of trail is more rugged and rocky.

This is an okay trail when dry but the ground is filled with burrs and isn't too dog foot friendly. Evening hikes are very buggy.

Great hike, easy and beautiful. Great weather and awesome place to beat the heat during June. Can easily go around the whole lake a couple of times if you want more excercise.

Great trails surrounding the lake. Was there yesterday and loved our visit there! Great photo opportunities when the Eagles roost. Perfect for kayaking and fishing.

Fun road and great views, ran across a huge elk and gang of turkeys. Traveled it this past Sunday.

My dog loved this loop trail, it was one of her first longer hikes. The birds were beautiful. I’m glad I got to go before it gets too hot

Great workout! This is my favorite hike when I only have about an hour.

Go left at the beginning for a slow, steep hike up. Continue on the loop for an easier descent. With kids, under 10, the loop takes about an hour and a half. Up and back down the steep side is about 45 minutes to an hour for the typical adult.

Nice hike for beginners such as myself. Nice views all around the lake. However, the trail is not 2.4 miles. It is closer to 3 miles.

Part of an extensive network of trails through a beautiful Pine Forest. Most of these trails are shared with mountain bikers. I had a very enjoyable hike and appreciated the shade during the hot part of the day.

Great hike with great views! Not much of an incline but you still get high enough to see over all the trees! Not many people were on the trail so that was nice!

Great hike that took about an hour even with stops! I recommend going to the right when starting. If you go to the left the whole first half is straight uphill verses the gradual incline the other way!

Beautiful hike. I grew up in Prescott and love it here. Nice views, easy to follow trail.

Beautiful sight!

Great view of the city but nothing to write home about.

Depends upon which side you choose to start, it can either be an easy or difficult start. The paved path becomes steeper and steeper, while gravel and paved path is easy. Anyway provides beautiful view of Prescott.

Very pretty, fun hike. I am an inexperienced hiker and had very little problems navigating the various branches of this hike.

We parked at a small lot right at the end of the East Bay Loop and went left. The first half of the hike from this direction is pretty lack luster and more of a relaxing walk. Once you get to past Heritage Park is when it becomes more challenging and very beautiful. Scrambled up a few rocks for some amazing views. We finished off the trail with the East Bay (?) loop through the marsh. The water was very low so there was no mud on this part of the trail. But it looks like the water could get very high there, so if during wet season I'd recommend parking at Heritage Park and hiking up to the bench at Red Bridge, then looping back around.

The trail also tracked at about 8 miles on my phone, but we went off trail a few times to climb and take pictures.

I very much enjoyed my time, and it was a pretty easy exprience.

I loved the trail itself. Lovely views and a nice hike that I'll do again. HOWEVER. The hike was made unenjoyable when the entire time the unpleasant thump of bass from music pumped out of the boat rental shack followed me. Even when far back in the various coves the banging followed.

Great short hike and can be challenging. At the right time of day the trail can be relatively quiet.

Great short hike. Steep depending on which directions taken (clockwise or counter clockwise). From Feb through mid-July parts of the trail are closed for the falcons breeding cycle. Great way to get your day started off right. Be aware there is a parking fee at the trailhead.

Very pretty lake with mallard ducks and a few benches along one side of lake. We logged just under 3 miles around the lake, though. It’s not 2.4 mi.

Easy and pleasant hike/ walk.

I would give it a 5, but the trail was blocked off when I went. All for good reasons (preservation of the falcons), but still didn't see the full beauty of the hike!
