Nice day hike with great views.

Starts as trail 9263. Look to the right early on the trail for the 95 sign. That is a loop. Start on the left side for a less intense hike. The return portion has some beautiful views. The first portion stays low and near the creek. Lots of vegetation. Bring some mosquito spray.

Completed this trail twice in the last month or so, once in each direction and each time took around 4 hours. Really is a beautiful trail with plenty of wildlife. Saw multiple deer on both hikes. No water sources on the trail, so bring everything you need. Visiting the fire watchtower is worth the extra 10 minutes for the views.

This trail has some nice views from the top and a lot of wildflowers. Wouldn’t recommend this trail if it has been raining a lot, as you cross the creek several times. Depending on which direction you choose, the loop give two different incline intensities. If you go clockwise, you follow the creek for the majority of the first half with a gradual incline and a few bigger inclines. If you choose counterclockwise, you will experience a much more intense incline for the first half of the loop. We went clockwise and enjoyed a less intense hike!

This hike is challenging, merely for the fact of how long it is. We did the hike counter clockwise. Getting to the top was fairly easy, but the decent was challenging due to the rocky found on sand. we did the full 10 miles, we thought it would take about 5 hours, we ended after 7.5 hours. it is a beautiful hike. We saw deer, horseback riders and lots of fellow hikers. I would highly recommend this hike, it is one that will test your endurance if you are a beginning hiker.

Trail starts off through Lower Wolf Creek Campground. Holiday weekend, campground was pretty busy. Trail is more of a 4x4 road. Saw 4 people walking. Another 4 on horses. Dozens of ATVs and trucks (vehicles aren't allowed). Walk was a bit of a roller coaster, up and down, mostly shaded. With so much going on on the trail we didn't do the whole hike. We found a pretty spot off the trail by the creek. My husband set up the hammock and we ate lunch, toes in the creek. Was peaceful when there wasn't people going by on quads, rand rails and trucks. Took away from being in such a quiet place. We enjoyed our few hours there alone and packed up.

Did the whole loop once before, decided to do the fun half this time which includes the Steps and Red Bridge. Saw a couple dead snakes, even tho it didn't affect the hike, the water height was much higher than it was in March. Some over grown vegetation bc of the rains could block some parts of the trail, just follow the white dots and you'll be fine.

My wife and I did this loop over the weekend. The parking lot was crowded, but due to the 9 miles of loop, we really didn’t run into anyone else, only at the look out and then on the boulders. One of the best features of this hike was all the lady bugs at the top- we came across a tree covered in what seemed like a million. We went counter clockwise, and enjoyed the boulders near the end of our hike.

The trail head isn't well marked, but once you make your way through the woods to the trail it is a great hike. The weather was perfect and everything was green from the recent rains. You could smell the pine trees and hear the wind blow through the tree tops. There are are a couple of loops so pay close attention as you hit the fifth mile or you might miss the turn back up the mountain like we did. It's okay though, half the fun of any journey is getting wittle side tracked along the way to chase a squirrel or two.

What a great hike! We went counterclockwise up the trail and had shad for the majority of the hike! Beautiful views looking out over White Spar! We weighed down some backpacks and it made the hike so much more challenging!!

Wonderful hike. Lots to look at and plenty to keep you engaged! I will be sure to do it again!

I took the left side up and enjoyed the challenge. There was an insane amount of ladybugs on the rocks around the bottom of the tower. Never seen anything like it. Small amount of water running in the creek.

Great trail for beginners or seasoned hikers. Great scenery and away from the city heat of Phoenix.

New favorite!

Great hike! We went counter clockwise up the more gradual incline to the lookout tower and then down. There are a couple tables and a toilet at the top. It's worth going the extra distance up to the tower and reading through the journal. Besides the length and the elevation change its really a realitivley easy hike and well maintained trail that is well marked. We only came across 5 or 6 people so plenty of soltitude for being so close to town.

Easy trail to follow and nice walk

My dog loved this loop trail, it was one of her first longer hikes. The birds were beautiful. I’m glad I got to go before it gets too hot

Awesome trail! At the top we went left onto trail 307 and took it 3.5 miles to the start of groom creek. Very neat views and terrain. Mostly shaded but could get a bit hot at times. Be cautious of mountain bikes and horse back riders they come through fast. We also saw 7 deer which was a cool sight

Fun hike! Pretty easy, has some good views and shady parts of the trail.

Solid hiking spot, very popular mountain biking spot also.
Trail easy to follow, moderate rating is accurate, nice payoff at the end.
Saw a number of colorful birds, and a deer.

This trail was amazing. Shade from tree tops complicated and an amazing work out. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this trail.

A little harder than expected but a great ride in the pines. A little bit of traffic for the first mile then all alone on the trail

Great hike. We went clockwise (right) on 95. It was perfect. Lots of shade.

Hot today but well covered with shade!

Just hiked this trail for the first time and i really enjoyed it. Taking the right side up is definitely easier then taking the left side up. Trail was really easy to follow well maintained and marked. Not really any great views from the top but if you're into forest hiking then this is the trail for you. lots of shade. even the ridge line is really wooded. I did the entire loop in 4.5 hrs that was with several breaks and a 40lb pack. 32oz of water was plenty for me. There is parking right at the trail head with restrooms and i believe there's no fee to park. but i could be wrong. I was dropped off. But yeah it's a great hike and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Oh yeah. one more thing. the creeks were dry. (hike date 5-5-18)

Great hike with great views! Not much of an incline but you still get high enough to see over all the trees! Not many people were on the trail so that was nice!
