Mainly flat old RR bed for quite a ways, finally off onto trails, last mile or two is a lot of uphill, all ample shade, lots of Ponderosa pine.

Nice views of Watson Lake.

My favorite segment of the Prescott Circle Trail. From Aspen Creek Trailhead on Copper Basin to White Spar Campground on White Spar. Beautiful views from Wolverton Mountain and Quartz Mountain.

There is a section near the end that leads down an ugly very rutted old dirt road. The great views on the rest of the hike more than make up for that.

One of the best downhill sites in Prescott.

This trail shows up as in Williams, but it is not anywhere near Williams. It is just a few miles outside of downtown Prescott. This is trail 332, a part of the Prescott Loop Trail.

This is a very easy flat hike. Great for bicycles too. Really nice.

The new alignment of segment 6 is much easier than the old alignment. The views are much better too. The downside is that the longest segment of the circle trail is now about one mile longer than the old alignment..

Segment 3 of the Prescott Circle Trail is from Thumb Butte Road to the Aspen Creek trailhead on Copper Basin Road. Like most segments, it is an enjoyable hike.

An easy mostly downhill segment. Walmart to Sundog Ranch Road. The end is near the sewage treatment plant, so it can be a bit stinky.

A relatively easy segment, with nice views of both Lower Goldwater and Upper Goldwater Lakes.

The last segment of the Prescott Circle Trail.

This is the longest, toughest segment of the circle trail. A long gully full of rocks in one section. The Over the Hill Gang is currently working on a new section to bypass the worst part.

I love almost all of the Prescott Circle Trail. I have led groups hiking it the last two tears, and will again this year.

Scouting around for a new route down to Copper Basin Wash. Old route is impassable and chocked up with scrub oak and Manzanita.

Beautiful views off both sides of ridge, Copper Basin on the west, Prescott on the east. Current map for this page is incorrect.
My trail capture is in the right place.

There was a lot of blown down trees from the recent snow.
