Nice hike. Flat area. Nest pond in the middle for wildlife. Bullfrogs were out in force. Saw 3 coyotes. This js a nice starter trail. WBJ 5-18-2019

Good for flat running in the desert

it was a nice easy walk around the hill side. Unfortunately there a bit of trash on the trail at the beginning. Wish I had a trash bag with me to pack it back out. This would be the perfect little walk after a rain storm to smell all the crosote bushes.

nice hike. I wish the markers were better though. the terrain was easy enough and the views spectacular. you can even climb a bit if you want or run a 5 k.

At the beginning of the trailhead, there is a faded map of the trails. Otherwise, there are NO trail markers except an occasional post indicating that it is possibly a trail. There are several pieces of trails. You need a good sense of adventure, a good sense of direction, and you need to remember where you parked your car!! The buttes are unique and fun to climb on. Just be careful of rocks and sand.

I’m a brand new mountain biker and live right next to this trail so I thought I would give it a shot. It was really fun, very beginner level, brought a friend with me and had a blast!

Nice little nature trail showing what's being preserved here at North Mountain. It's just a little walk in the park, not a trail.

This is incredibly easy and is flat. I saw a lot of families on their bikes. It’s a little confusing at points, but it’s the longest trail in the Papago system. I also recommend heading up the Hole in the Rock.

great for kids. we even took our 3 year old and it was perfect... he loved it!!

We went on this hike as a family. Two boys, ages 13 & 9. Easy marked trails but some climbing & steep areas of you want to get to the holes in the big rocks. Once you’re up there, the view is very nice so it’s worth it. Lots of people with dogs & kids.

Nice hike on basically flat ground. One of our group of eight had a knee problem, and that was why I chose this trail today. Everybody liked it!

I love when I get to watch the sunset from these views

Good beginner trail mostly flat surfaces but there are plenty if opportunities for you to go off trail and climb Papago Buttes. It's difficult to stay on the actual trail because there are so many extra trails around it and signage isn't very good. Heavily trafficked and populated so you shouldn't really get lost, it will be easy to find your way back if you do. Climbing the buttes can be steep and have a lot of loose gravel. I mostly mozied on and off the trail if I saw something that interested me.

Great walk for anyone. Beautiful views. Take plenty of water. There are some designated covered picnic areas. I will say that the trails are not well marked in this park.

Don’t follow the trail, adventure! Dozens upon dozens of wonderful paths can be taken for some fun dips and turns, a handful of nice jumps, and whatever else you’re feeling during your ride. Extremely casual without sacrifice of thrill. It almost feels like a giant skatepark for your mountain bike if you’re willing to seek those special routes!

Nice, easy trail. Sadly there is a lot of glass along the trail which is unfortunate.

I took my 5 year old and 3 year old on a hike, on this trail. And they loved it. Very good trail for beginners, and it’s super easy. Just follow the trail markers. It’s one big loop. And the scenery is beautiful too !

Enjoyed the trail for as long as we could find it. I will say If you plan on bringing your dog, there was lots of broken glass around and my dog got a piece in her paw. I think the other trails there may have less broken glass... we found the 5k loop and that seemed better. Beautiful views and nice trail tho.

The “trail,”’ is basically a flat hard packed dirt roadway, adjacent to the canal and situated between a neighborhood and a busy street. It’s great for an easy walk, but isn’t a peaceful nature stroll by any means. Lots of bikes and families. Not much to see scenery wise, but it is perfect for a close by walk after work.

Good trail, easy hike!

Great easy walk with views of downtown and the mountains beyond.

Nice little hike just north of Downtown Tempe! Perfect for when you need a little escape. Get off the trail and relax up in one of the numerous rock cutouts/caves.

Nice walk with some cool views. Decently marked but if you get off the trail it’s easy to connect with another one or find your way back to your trail.

Decent little walk. Pretty crowded.

Perhaps the worst signed trail I have ever used. Impossible to find half the trail. Paving is only a short distance. Kids liked rock clambering, though.

Completed this a few times now, great for walking the dog and beautiful views.

Nice trail, easy to get through and easy to follow
