This is a nice easy walk. Some rock but not a lot. Beautiful views of the lake. A few gnats but not bad. You do have to pay the $7 park fee if you don’t have the yearly pass.

Nice and easy trail. The community center is very busy, but once you get on a trail, it’s not bad. Trail is nicely paved- I wish it was marked a little better. Today was my first time there, and there were quite few turns and options, so I had to stop to see where each turn was leading. Otherwise, the area fell pretty nice and safe, until I got to the bridge before Bell Rd and saw all of the homeless people sleeping under that bridge. That was my end point for the trail.

Great in-town hike

A nice short trail that we did after hiking the Yavapai Trail at Lake Pleasant. This trail was easy, right along the lake. We didn’t go all of the way out to the end because of loose rock. Does run along the RV camp area.

Carl Shull and I did a Hike prior to the “Run for the Heart” event this Saturday. We performed minor maintenance along trail. It is safe and usable. Good condition. Some areas can be touched up time permitting.

Kudos to Phoenix for preserving this area. We loved the rugged hike, but several times went astray on social trails. Alltrails prevented a lot of family conflict! It would be hard to become technically lost, but it could be a long way back to the car without the map. We were surprised how few people were on the trail on a weekday morning. Lovely hike, I would do it again.

Nice trail with nice views of happy valleys! Definitely small trails along hills. Rocks can be ankle twister so gym shoes don’t work well to me!

Good easy hike in terms of elevation. A less traveled portion of the Maricopa Trail.

You park at WestWing community park and there is a path to take to reach the actual Sunrise trail. Map at the trailhead says 4.5 miles, but Garmin tracked my hike and said it was only 3 miles. There are quite a few trail options, but they all lead to the same place, so that’s good. The trails we took led us to a few steep and very high incline paths. A great workout!

This is a nice trail with not a lot of people, clean and well marked. I enjoyed the rockier parts of the climb, it was a good, shorter hike with excellent views. I believe I could see Lake Pleasant and the summit is peaceful.

Fun trail. Lots of building just to get through the riverbed though. Huge risk with getting shot next to the shooting range though.

This is a great trail right behind a beautiful view. You can take a short rout or go the distance and burn more calories. Great for a family hike with the dogs or to go by yourself for a mid day workout.

Easy and fun. Nice views. Took a 6 year old and a small pup went 4.5 miles taking different loops. It was a nice Sunday. Wore the dog out, not the 6 year old

Amazing trail! I started in the middle(ish) I believe.. there is a parking lot next to a park. I went right after crossing the road and left at the bridge, and right over the bridge. Keep right if you want to continue on the trail, otherwise it will end a mile or so down the path. Keeping to the right and over a small bridge the trail is about 10 miles maybe a little less. It is wonderfully paved! Wide enough to have bikers, jogger, dogs walking with plenty of room to pass. It has some small hills and turns but I found this to make the longer 30+ miles ride to be very enjoyable. It also has plenty of place along the tail where you could pull off and grab extra beverages. I got a Powerade at the Arby’s for example. So over amazing trail!

If you are looking for a hike that is easy and you can bring your dogs, this one is for you. I was able to reach the top in less than 30 minutes with running shoes.

Great paved trail along New River (West) and Skunk Creek (East). We parked at the Peoria Veterans Memorial Park, located just north of Thunderbird road on the east side of New River. Get you water and go potty at the facilities in the park as there are none along the trails. Keep and eye and an ear open for bicyclists as they move along at a pretty good clip. Most cyclists shout out as they’re passing but keep to the right side of the trail in case they don’t. Lots of birds along the river/creek bed for bird watchers. Please be sure to pickup after your dogs. We noticed many dog owners did not which detracted from an otherwise beautiful inner city hike. Enjoy!
