A good little trail not heavily trafficked. Seems to be a new neighborhood and park nearby; that's where you park. A short hike to the trailhead and you're off! There's good views of the Northwest Valley including: The CAP canal, Lake Pleasant area, Bradshaw Mountains, and all of Peoria. Nearby are Westwing and Sunrise Mountain too! Deems and Pyramid to the East. All good hikes! A short mountain, but still good views. Not a hike I would waste my time on in cooler weather, but great for a quick workout in late July!

Did this trail this morning. There was not a lot of traffic when I went. There was 10 people that I came across at 5 different occasions. Once you park, the trailhead is .1 or .2 miles away. The trailhead states that the trail is 4.2 miles long, however, I don’t think that adds the distance of the “extreme” trail. My distance at the end was 5.9 miles and it took me 2.5 hours. I’m personally out of shape and found some parts of the trail strenuous. However, the trail was well marked and I took the more difficult trails. This trail is surrounded by the city, but offers amazing views.

This trail is listed as a 4 mile loop. Both All Trails and Map My Tracks logged me at 5.1 miles. You might want to change your mileage quote. It’s a good hike and tests you a bit.

Long paved path in the West valley. Good for walking, running or road biking without having to worry about vehicles or road crossings. It’s not actually a loop as the description says, but I do believe that is the ultimate goal if the path is ever extended as planned.

trail running

I've run it 5 or 6 times. Somehow the first mile is the hardest, but the views are great. Beware on the way back, when you get to the saddle (above the switchback) where there's a T, there's what looks like a trail going off to the left. I took that the first time, and it deposits you in a non-trail. The two correct ways back both start off in almost the same direction. The left-hand trail back (heading north) is almost scrambling, I won't say I was running that part...

Easy. I use this Paved path to ride my bike to train for hiking around the world. It goes under all roads so you don't have to worry about getting hit by a car. On the south end of the path it continues east for a long ways. Bring lots of water the water fountains taste really bad.

My four and a half year old and I did this trail together. Very rocky, make sure you have good shoes. No shade, so wear hats and sunscreen. Good trail!

Friday evening, sunset hike just on the outskirts of town. Had the trail to ourselves the whole hike, has lots of turns and inclines. Hung out at the top a while taking in the view of the canals and the farm's green grass and water reserves. Was really windy which was nice.

Loved it! Went on a Saturday morning and there were more people at the trailhead park (west wing park) than the trail itself. Only issue was stopping every once in a while to figure out which path was the right path (need better trail markers). It’s a little narrow in certain sections around the southern peak with steep drop offs (careful with kids less than 8ish).

Brisk 20 minute ascent to the summit. Nice view and minimal foot traffic

This is my go to trail. It's close to my house and can give you a varied workout with distances up to 6 miles.

Nice out and back with a small loop- bit of climbs in places but very moderate overall.

What a nice trail! My husband and I (early 60's) are new to the area living in Glendale. Thunderbird always busy on the weekends so looked for another trail close by. Arrived around 9 and began a lovely hike. It is a good workout with great views.

This is an easy and family-friendly hike. The views are nice and it's a good, quick hike.

I'm sad so many houses are going up around this mountain, but it's been a favorite hike over the years. Rarely are there crowds and I can bring my dog. All of the trails are well-maintained and the views are nice. It's fun to climb this trail and watch the hot air balloons take off.

My family and I enjoy this hike. I've completed it several times with them and by myself. It is also pet-friendly. I would also recommend this for trail running. There are crowds on the weekend, but the views of Peoria are nice. Bathrooms are at the trailhead if you start from Westwing Park.

It’s a perfect little hike for the spur of the moment. We only live 15 minutes away.

Where is the trailhead?

Enjoyed the hike very much! It was fairly easy, even for non-experienced hikers. A bit rocky here and there but the views were worth it!

Easy little trail right by lake!

Was a really fun hike wasn’t too bad took about two hours but we kept on stopping and looking at the view kids loved it!!!

Perfect afternoon hike with a good incline and great views. Fun to watch the balloons going up to the north/west.

After 1st km km, a great sidewinder type of trail, fairly rugged, that circles three or four peaks and walks you along a few ridges. Nice views 360.

Great views!!! Only about 1.5 miles!

unless you have a special permitt to make it past the gate by the harbour DO NOT even bother driving down

A few different ways around the mountain, but a very enjoyable hike. According to my recording, the way I took was only 1.5 miles.

Great view! I loved it! It has plenty of places that level out so it’s not bad at all. The view was a huge pay-off! Wow!

Took our scout troop and this trail was perfect! Nice views of the lake the whole time and easy access to the water in many spots. Cool Hohokam ruins too!

I enjoyed this trail. I believe it’s about 1.75 miles Long and it look me under and hour to hike. I wish there was small signage throughout though. I missed the trail head to come back down and realized that when I saw the benches for the second time.
The trail is narrow and people are very nice to step aside while others are passing. A few spots are very steep and there was one section on the back side where you have to scale rocks to get up to the trail. Fun little challenge.
