Great trail. A little nerve wracking for us since we are beginners and just got a side by side 2 weeks ago.

Beautiful views.

Beautiful drive to the trailhead. Started out dusty and with little shade/views. Was talking about turning around but once you get about a mile in there is more shade and little creeks that the dogs loved.

The full trail is as advertised at 18 miles. I’d recommend full body armor for your undercarriage. Rock sliders are very highly recommend especially in the river and rocky portions. Awesome elevation change from low washes to high desert to 5,000+ feet with a lake hidden in the mountains. Lots of great obstacles, bring a spotter! You will need a capable 4x4 with rear lockers and low range gears at the least. Not sure if a awd or 2wd would make it on this trail, we passed 2 jeeps with lifts and tires that had broken down along our journey. #toyota won’t let you down. My 4runner made it all the way. It comes out in Catalina in some quiet neighborhoods then you can take oracle roughly 30 miles back to Tucson. Great trail.

Good terrain for sightly modified Subaru Forester

Fun dirt tail, not very challenging but leads to many far more difficult trails along the way. Many spots to camp shoot and admire the beautiful desert landscape. About 13 miles in the terrain changes to high desert and becomes amazingly beautiful during sunrise and sunset. No need for 4x4 along this road and it will take you all the way around to pavement again about 30 miles from the end of Tanque verde to 10 miles outside of San Manuel. Great way to take if you want to do the trails on the backside of mount Lemmon.

Perfect single track for trail running, or hiking with kids. Shady, pretty, and so close to my back door that I consider it a backyard trail. I recommend it to everyone. FYI a lot of the photos on this trail in this app are of the canyon road, or Huachuca RIDGE trail, not the lower canyon trail proper, to the east of the canyon road. You are IN the canyon, not on any ridges or summits unless you opt to hike the last scramble to Huachuca Ridge Trail at the spoon. Huachuca RIDGE trail is different than Huachuca Canyon Trail, to clarify. This trail goes for about 1.5 miles and connects again with the canyon road for another .5 mile that leads you to a spoon where you can park or picnic (this is 2 miles up the canyon road). You can continue on past the spoon to connect to additional trails, or turn back there for your 4 mile out and back hike. Or opt to head up a scramble to Huachuca Ridge Trail, but it’s not marked very well, so don’t take any game trails by mistake. See Huachuca Ridge trail or Peterson trail / Crest Trail for more options if you want to extend this hike further.

Mostly an ATV trail, which isn’t as fun. We completed 4 miles of this with a 5 and 4 year old when my kids were a little younger. Very shady and cool, with great scenery in the fall when the leaves change color. The waterfall area was dry when we were there (fall), and it got really scrambly beyond that point, that’s where we turned back.

Long trail to the edge of the world, took about an hour and a half to get there and another hour and a half back. Very bumpy, rocky, great scenery. Lots of deer and at night you can see the sky filled with stars, saw some campers at the top. Will recommend to bring flashlights and a spare tire just in case.

Good starter trail. A stock 4X4 will be just fine, we were in a ‘13 Jeep rubicon.

fun shorter trail close to Payson. follow the directions that take u pass the Safeway to get there. parking lot is trailhead and we went clockwise. fun with some technical and off camber some mud holes tight tree passes but ok for our TJ and some bypasses. marked well and lots of off-shoots to explore. good late afternoon run for An hour.

fun trail, slow goin and bumpy trail but made it with a lifted suburban on 35s. switch backs take some patience with big trucks. beautiful views.

We started the loop at 3:30pm, so we had lots of alone time and plenty of shade. We were looking for something to warm us up after the ride into town and this really hit the spot! Our dog enjoyed it too.

FYI State Trust Land Permit required (at least from what I saw at the end I entered) This is a beautiful trail. it's mostly only wide enough for one vehicle. there wasn't much traffic the day I went. the terrain is great, mostly smooth with some rocky/bumpy sections. there are a few whoops you can catch some air off of if the area is safe/clear. highly recommend.
