This is one of my favorite hikes! I wouldn't follow the map here! It's only 2.5 out and back. At the end you are rewarded with beautiful views of Four Peaks. The elevation gain is only a couple hundred feet. Don't take all of the spurs to the water's edge. There isn't a lot of shade so wear a hat and bring more water than you think you need. There isn't water at the trailhead.

I'm new to mountain biking and it was a little rocky for my hardtail. A decent biker would probably enjoy it more than I did.

I had to hike-a-bike to get to the top so I can rate the hiking as a little rocky but pretty easy.

Great hike with great views but very exposed, watch out for some kind of bees or hornets nesting in the porous cave face. Usery Mtn has a $7 fee.

Great for a quick hike but very steep and rocky at first. Took my 10 and 8 year old and GSD; everyone made it fine but there was a little bit of complaining about the steepness. We like longer, smooth trails. Oh and we didn’t see a river, but I guess could’ve missed it. This little mountain does have beautiful views at the top though. Just with all the other trails avail, we may not be back too soon. ;)
As we were driving out it looked like there could have been another trail around the other side of the mountain, maybe not quite as steep. I guess we’ll have to check it out if we make it back there sometime or maybe look at the map a little closer. LOL!

If you go early enough you will catch shade all morning. Bring a wind breaker, the hike is named properly.

This is one of my favorite poop trails in the area.

This trail is actually more like 9 miles and isn't very well marked. It was moderate elevation wise but length wise this trail was a bit tough.

Seemed good for mountain biking but April-September I wouldn't suggest it just because of the length alone.

Quick, easy hike. Great for kids and pups. My kids have been doing this hike since they were in diapers. Also great for trail running.

One of my favorite quick hikes.. when i have the urge to be in nature this is my favorite spot.
