Decent views - started at 0615 finished at about 0855 as we stopped for lunch - I hike a lot in Arizona in the summer but the last mile was oppressively hot. At 108 my backpack thermometer read 120 in direct sun. I’d recommend not doing this one during July/Aug unless the high is below 105

Badly badly marked, maybe not at all, more just weaving little sandy trails. Half the time we dead-ended in the river or bushes. Very little shade on the trails that are accessible. Busy spot for the river, bbqs and little rc cars. The river was gorgeous and we saw a small herd of horses and a big bull across the water! Pretty wild flowers and trees too.

Decent trail if you don’t want to drive to the park, though you still have to pay. Views of the Superstitions and Pass Mountain.

A bit too flat, very little shade. Nice blossoms beginning to show.

A flat trail, great for a lazy stroll. luckily the sun was behind clouds. no shade here.

The miles are definitely miscalculated and the trail map available at the ranger's office tells you that it is 7 miles or so. I hiked this trail more than ten times and it's a pleasure every time, not to mention the great views and solitude. It's 10 miles from starting point and back to the trail head. I recommend it!!!

Second time we went there made a lot of stops to enjoy the beautiful view. Go early and take plenty of water and comfortable shoes.

this was a bad hike. there is horse poop everywhere. although we saw some horses it was smelly and there were a lot of flies.

Great trail for running!

I didn’t realize most of this hike/trail was a wash but it’s a good little hike for little dogs. Lots of mountain bikers and tons of Cholla to watch for!

Nice trail but a bit too flat and generic to get 4 stars from me.

Not well marked. Sometimes we did not even know where the trail was. Very limited water views. Disappointing.

My personal favorite hiking trail. Not tough, but long enough to get a good hike in.

Good trail, not too long. So many cactuses, I haven’t made it through without the pups getting one stuck in their paw, but otherwise good. Also the price went up to $7 to enter the park.

Decent trail, just stay away from the Signal Wash which runs parallel with the Spillway Trail and is much too sandy.

One of the better “city hikes” - not too many people there on a weekend - some fairly steep inclines. Would do it again

My son and I went walking on this trail in late April 2018. We saw many saguaros blooming, very pretty. We accessed by Crismon, there is a $2.00 self pay charge per person to use the trail, so be sure to bring cash!

Saw my first Saguaro blossoms on this beautiful trail today! The desert was once again gorgeous on this hike. Seemed like everything was purposely planted or placed in its spot. Great views of Superstition Mtns. Can’t wait to have hubby ride his bike thru here this weekend while I walk the dog!

Super awesome running trail! Great views!
We went counterclock-wise & started with the hills. Bring water!

Great trail and amazing views

Despite the beauty of the water, this trail is not well maintained and trash is omnipresent. Loud music and very little reason to ever go back. The one star is for the roadrunner that we saw.

Nice, easy trail.

So we actually went about a mile and a half further than we thought we are going to. But it was beautiful today, and the scenery was stunning. I do suggest going early in the morning as I could see it gets hot- there is definitely no shade but plenty of photo opportunities. People to bring their dogs but I do worry dogs will get overwhelmed... I would definitely do it again but make sure to bring water and be prepared to walk at least 10 miles if you need. That means wear good socks and bring sunglasses

Had a great time, very few people and my dogs loved it!!

Awesome hike and there's usually not a lot of people so if you need to think deeply and immerse yourself in nature, it's a great hike. Nice elevation changes without killing yourself.

This "trail" was not really a trail. No signage, no markers.
Just dirt trails that bifurcated everywhere. The area suffers from years of neglect by the Forest Service. But, if you want to see horses, they are certainly around.

Nice mix of easier and challenging sections. Great views if you take the time to enjoy them. I got 7.35 miles the couple times I’ve run this trail.

Nice easy, sandy trail with no steep embankments. Mostly flat with a tiny incline in places. Pretty cactus - no wildflowers this year. Well marked.
