Decent views - started at 0615 finished at about 0855 as we stopped for lunch - I hike a lot in Arizona in the summer but the last mile was oppressively hot. At 108 my backpack thermometer read 120 in direct sun. I’d recommend not doing this one during July/Aug unless the high is below 105

Nice little hike up to the saddle. Enough exercise for me on a hot June morning.

So much fun! Great for any skill level too. Renting a kayak is the easiest option— a bus will pick you up at your desired location and take you back to your car. Take a friend!

The miles are definitely miscalculated and the trail map available at the ranger's office tells you that it is 7 miles or so. I hiked this trail more than ten times and it's a pleasure every time, not to mention the great views and solitude. It's 10 miles from starting point and back to the trail head. I recommend it!!!

Second time we went there made a lot of stops to enjoy the beautiful view. Go early and take plenty of water and comfortable shoes.

Great trail for running!

My personal favorite hiking trail. Not tough, but long enough to get a good hike in.

Not much of a hike. Would be good for kids 2-5 or a bit older if biking.
When trying to get to the trailhead my GPS took me to a residential neighborhood with no access to the trail. Access is directly from Recker straight west of the trailhead.

One of the better “city hikes” - not too many people there on a weekend - some fairly steep inclines. Would do it again

Lovely trail, wasn't clearly marked, I was looking for the loop which you have to cross the wash, I ended up hiking up the small mountain. Nice views.

Super awesome running trail! Great views!
We went counterclock-wise & started with the hills. Bring water!

Great trail and amazing views

Super Rocky terrain so if you have weak ankles or small children I suggest skipping this hike. We did see a snake and other wildlife. The views at the end were beautiful.

Beautiful view, low-traffic and peaceful -- at least the parts over the first saddle (when run clockwise). The track is a bit difficult to follow, and quite challenging to run due to the loose gravel and steep grades. On the far side of the saddle, it feels a lot more remote and cell reception drops out in places. The "trail" out there is more like a combination of wildlife trail and drainage. You have to rely quite a bit on the presence of cairns to make the correct turns, including finding the branch for this trail from the Pass Mountain trail if you do it counterclockwise.

Be aware that you climb TWO saddles when completing this loop.

Why would rate sickly a beautiful trail 1 star simply because you could find your way? Get all trails pro, download maps and never get lost.
Absolutely great hike, great views

Amazing! It’s great for a new hiker

Not happy with this trails. I lost few time. No post on trail. Went out of loop and come back to find the loop. After found the loop. Hiking alone on that trail really creepy me out. A lot of inclines got to my car after 8.6 miles. Fell twice hurt my knees. I need to remind myself to bring first aids next trail. Will not come back here again. So disappointed with the trails Only two things I can say positive are 1). Beautiful views. 2) made it to my car safe with phone died on me

So we actually went about a mile and a half further than we thought we are going to. But it was beautiful today, and the scenery was stunning. I do suggest going early in the morning as I could see it gets hot- there is definitely no shade but plenty of photo opportunities. People to bring their dogs but I do worry dogs will get overwhelmed... I would definitely do it again but make sure to bring water and be prepared to walk at least 10 miles if you need. That means wear good socks and bring sunglasses

It was very challenging at times, but very nice view at the top.

Awesome hike and there's usually not a lot of people so if you need to think deeply and immerse yourself in nature, it's a great hike. Nice elevation changes without killing yourself.

Nice hike! Easy to Moderate Hike for me, enjoyed the landscape and friendly peeps as I was a little nervous as no markers on the trail. Saw a few lizards & vultures. Good Times :)

Nice mix of easier and challenging sections. Great views if you take the time to enjoy them. I got 7.35 miles the couple times I’ve run this trail.

Great trail, 13 km and we finished in 2 hours and 45 minutes. We went clock wise so the steepest part of the trail is when you’re descending near the end.

Great hike . Moderate hike and enjoyed the view

good for family, app makes it easy to stay on trail

First time to AZ hiking, entered off road. Should have used GPS, struggled a little finding trailhead we came in on, was all good though. Awesome trail!

Great trail, but, someone is not right about the miles. I used 3 different device's (at the same time) and got an average of 7.9 miles. GPS times 3. Steps useless. The map ???.
But a great hike no matter the distance....who's counting anyway??
