Scenic and has a couple nice hills that require a lift and larger tires, but besides that it is just insanely Rocky and bumpy. Way too rocky it was just irritating! I only needed 4wd twice for the 2 hills that are on the trail. A stock vehicle can make it most of the way. Just soooooooo bumpy!!!!!

Good hike! Lots of bikers just got to be cautious with them. View at the top is worth it.

gnats were insane last week and bug spray doesn't help. Either bring a beekeeper suit or stay home.

It was a fun trail. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a dog with a lot of fur, as it becomes narrower on the incline, there are small cacti on the trail in a couple of places.

Not a good biking trail. It’s a short up-back, but halfway up it is as if someone took a dump truck full of softball-bowling ball sized rocks and poured them along the entire length of the trail. Waste of time on a bike, but a cool hike. Nice views, pretty trail. This recording includes a short detour down Meridian Trail, which is a much more fun trail for a bike, to at least get some riding in for the day.

Fun family trail!

Great quick hike - if you don’t want to do the full Bulldog/Pass Mtn loop this side is much prettier as an out and back than Bulldog, which is more crowded as a rule. Horribly buggy at 6 pm today!!

Fun trail. Took the kids and turned onto Cat’s Peak for a little more challenging ride. Great for beginners to novices. Watch out for the cactus needles.

Not difficult at all. Beautiful views! Did an out and back clockwise as the backside of the mountain isn’t very scenic.

Good uphill workout. We started at 6 am, lots of little bugs on the way down. We also saw a centipede eating a tarantula!

It says 6.9 miles but from where we parked a bit away it was 8 miles. Would not recommend for elderly, young, or weak. Went with my 15 and 13 yr old and we did it just fine, struggled a bit the last couple miles due to the heat around 9:30-10, make sure you start really early in the morning especially in the summer. It took us about 3.5 hours with stopping a few times. This is basically a biking trail, we stood off to the side about 10 times to let bikers to pass. The last time I went starting at 4:30am we didn’t see any bikers so start earlier to avoid traffic. Bring lots of water and use the app to stay on the trail, it’s easy to get off. We went counter clockwise like all the other reviews said to and would suggest that. Has very pretty views and lots of wildlife! Saw some hares, lizards, a Gila monster, lots of desert cactus flower and a nice view of the river towards the end! Will be hiking it again.

Great trail. Moderate to difficult in some parts. Worth doing it! Great views! Nice work out. Not a lot of parking, get there early.

The scenery along the trail is beautiful and there aren't any steep advents, but it is rocky and sandy in places, so wear shoes with good traction or boots. I wouldn't recommend it for dogs. parts of the trail are married with foxtails about a foot high on both sides, so there's no avoiding them and my dog got one in his ear. Start early because it gets hot and there is very little shade. Also, it's easy to get of trail in a few spots. On the plus side, I saw very few other people and I was out there for 5 hours.....mostly because I lost some keys. If anyone finds them, please leave them at the trailhead. They are attached to a small metal pepper spray canister.

Easy peasy

If you like to stop hiking every 2-3 min as Mountain bikers pass this is the trail for you. It’s a good, beautiful hike, maybe less bikers on a weekday? Saturday morn was overrun with them. Great view of Red Mountain.

To get in to Bulldog Canyon you need a permit from Recreation.gov. It is very affordable, I think only $6. The trail had beautiful mountain and canyon scenery with lots of wildflowers. A few offshoot trails to explore and lots of dispersed camping spots. We camped over night and really enjoyed it. It was quiet and peaceful. Most of the other people around were respectful and drove slowly past the campers. There were two tricky hills that were rutted out and sketchy. Our Can Am Defender Max scraped while going downhill but did better going up when we had better visibility. Most of the trail is rocky but easy. These two hills turn an easy trail into moderate, in my opinion. Good for running, hiking, camping, biking and off-road driving.

Took the kids about 1.5 miles in, totally loved it! Trail was clean and well marked. All the flowers were in bloom, colors from blue to hot pink to orange purple and yellow. We didn’t complete because my little one was tired and asked to be carried. Plan on going back sans kids

I enjoyed this hike. We explored a little around the saddle so my watch logged just over 4 miles.
