Awesome trail...not difficult at all and also not busy at all! Trail is well marked .

I was on this trail for about 2+ hours and no other soul around. Just me and the wilderness of this park. The vistas are fantastic.

This is a really nice trail that has great views and interesting terrain. Many of the previous reviews are spot on; it starts at a Maricopa Trail sign near the road that is across the street from the parking lot. It did get a little confusing the first time I hiked it. If you take your phone and the AllTrails app you will be fine. I hiked the part of the trail with the most elevation gain first and could have missed a turn or two. Not a big deal.

Clear laid out paths, watch out for bikers and they’ll watch out for you. Mineshaft was fun to see and some great views. Went on a Sunday afternoon and saw only 4 groups of people.

I don’t think this hike should be classified as hard. It’s short but could be easily extended, lots of trails here.

Great hike! Brought my 10 year old lab with and he loved it.

Just the right length for me. Good for mountain biking but only saw about 10 bikers in 1 1/2 hours. Not too crowded at what could be a crowded time in great weather.

Nice trail not too crowded

trail not marked well. got off trail twice. kids should be 8 or over. lots of sliding terrain. I saw beauty the whole way though, great views

Very serene and peaceful. Even saw saw wild horses.

Poorly marked trail that you can easily lose your way on. Take GPS . Beautiful scenery.

Great for Grandma and 8 year old granddaughter! Not too steep, not too long! Perfect afternoon!

There were very few hikers but a lot of bikers. Signage was not the best - actually you start on the Maricopa trail.

Nice trail. First time here and had to use the app to make sure we were in the right route

Awesome. We extend the hike to 6 miles.

We enjoyed this hike! The trail is rocky and narrow in places with many small ups and downs. There are also many mountain bikers. The scenery was beautiful with overlooks to the Salt River and we saw a small band of wild horses. We are age 64 and 71. Doable for us but balance is needed along with good ankle strength. Enjoy!

Great overall trail. Suggest climbing the mountain first due to loose rocks coming down if you were to do the opposite. There are 3 old mines on this trail that we could see, but 2 were filled in. The third is towards the top and is pretty neat. Really good for dogs, but watch for bikes. You feel like you're in the middle of no where pretty quick...love that about this trail. Opportunity to see wildlife.

We use this trail for hiking and biking. Easy hike with great views and chance to see wildlife. Trail is in great condition and is well marked. Lots of up and downs. Good for dogs, but really need to be aware of mountain bikers if you bring them along. Lots of trails that branch off to extend your hike/ride.

Not kid friendly! The trail was not defined at ALL in some areas(north of the peak) and if it wasn't for this app, I would have gotten lost in in multiple spots. On the returning portion of the loop the trail runs through a creek bed where the are large boulders to climb over. I had to lift and carry my kids most of the way back. It was a cool hike but I would not bring any kids younger than 7-8 or go during the "flash flood" season in Arizona.

Loved the trail. The only reason it's not a 5 is because there's a lot of mountain bikers and you gotta watch out for them, but definitely worth going again.

Perfect for trail running!

This was a fun ride. You get some decent views of Red Mountain across the way but most of the enjoyment comes from the twisty up/down flow of the trail. You pick up some good speed through the dips. Will be back here a few times in the future.

Enjoyed our ride in Sunday. Trail is very flowy, with a few sandy spots. The downhill rides really fast and there's some great views of the Salt River.

Wild Horse Trail is perfect for trail running. 100% runnable with almost no technical or rocky spots. It shares a trailhead off of Power road with Twisted Sister trail, so keep to the left (east side) of the trail in the first 1/2 mile to end up on Wild Horse. The trail is very smooth with mostly gently inclines and descents. Fairly narrow single track but I only saw a couple other people in the hour I was on the trail. Very fast trail for running, almost as fast as just running on flat asphalt but a lot more fun with all the twists and turns and small rolling hills. Nice panoramic views of the area, including Red mountain and Usery. I recommend starting at the trailhead off Power Road so that you get the uphill out of the way and leave yourself with over 3 miles of downhill fun for the second half. One of the best trails in the area for running and would be a blast on a mountain bike as well. There is a fork in the trail about 3 miles in (from the Power Road trailhead) but don't stress about it because both options end up in the same place about 1/4 of a mile later.
