Easy trail for the most part. Not always well marked. Got off the trail a view times, but found my way back. Good trail for your off workout days. No shade, very hot in the summer.

Parked at the end of Ernie's road but missed the turn off about 50 yards in to go left. Not sure if there was a more marked trail that way but we bushwhacked around looking for the rim/edge and did not find a grand vista. There is definitely no trail in the location marked on the map here (we had a GPS and crossed the "red trail line" on the map several times near the saddle but did not come across anything. HikeAZ has it right: "Follow this "trail" as long as you can as it quickly disappears near a fence/property line." Just be aware. It's still a nice area though.

Awsome, easy hike. Gorgeous views at chicken point (end of broken arrow). Recommend doing it. Do it early as it gets busy and there isn't too many parking spots

We definitely recommend stopping here, just be prepared for a crowd - especially at sunset. It's popular because it's just so beautiful! The hike is short and relatively easy, although some older family members had to take a couple of breaks. There are benches conveniently placed along the trail for this.
We also went back in the middle of the night and there wasn't a single person there. We planned it based on moon set so we could look at the stars. Bring flashlights, sweaters, and be super careful around the edge (there's no railings).

Steep trip up but the vistas at the top are great.

The southwest point of Mescal Mountain is a fantastic place to watch a sunset over the valley.

Does anyone know if this hike is closed due to fire restrictions?

This trail was way better than I expected it to be. Planned for just a quick and easy down and back. But this hike got 10x better when we climbed up the rocks at the end of the trail. At the top we followed a small path that went deeper into the canyon to where you are high enough to see above the growth and down the canyon for some Awesome views!! Was very quiet and peaceful and ended up being one of our favorite hikes in our time here in Sedona. Highly recommend.

This trail is not within the closure area according to www.FS.USDA.gov. Has anyone been there since the closures went in to effect on the 23rd. Thanks

Always a good hike.

Decided to hike here to watch the sunset. Just way too crowded. As of right now, you CANNOT hike the “loop”. Northeast side of the mountain is completely closed due to maintenance/construction. Could only access southeast side(which is a steep incline for .7 miles to the summit(be aware that there are towers at the top) then had to turn around and come right back down. Short and did not get a good workout because of the amount of people. If you are a nature inspired fitness guru, I would highly suggest plenty of other mountains to get your fix.

Trail is closed until further notice (most likely until it rains).

A short and very rewarding hike. The quick climb offers some great views of the Phoenix airport, downtown and Tempe. The other side offers a nice view of the Zoo and the lake.

Loved this trail! So scenic the entire time! A little longer of a hike than the trail map says. It’s about an 8.4 mile hike in and out.

Getting up close to some of the monuments makes it worth it over just doing the scenic drive. Do both if you can.

my 4 year old and I did it in flip flops. great view of Tempe and ASU. will do it again.

Beautiful views of Tucson and nice cool air. Mostly dirt trail vs. rocky. Feels like I’m in a different state, more like Colorado.

Such an awesome and varied hike! You cross over a creek 13 times, overlooking canyons. It’s one of the best hikes I’ve ever been on. It offers something for everyone - trees, water, beautiful birds, fish, the canyons I already mentioned and so much more. It’s also quite shaded which is quite different than other hikes around here. Only negative thing is this hike can be crowded, even on a weekday. Still worth it!

Great loop for kids.

Wouldn't recommend this trail. Poorly marked and signs say to stay off trail and follow the dry stream bed. Views are relatively the same on both sides. Drive there is a bit long on the gravel road for a poorly marked trail (Maybe because we were spoiled in other areas)

Short, flat, and fairly unspectacular, except for the views of the Superstitions.

Decent hike with nice views, just too flat for my liking.

Fun trail with great views and the cave is awesome! Steep towards the top and a few spots to climb over some rocks - which makes it fun!

Good for a nice walk.

FYI: I was planning on hiking this trail over memorial weekend but just received an email that they are closing this area on Wed May 23, 2018 due to wild fires. Anyone who have bought a permit will be refunded. Will plan to go again when they reopen.

We really enjoyed this simple trail with views of Lake Powell. The hanging garden at the end is pretty interesting since it is in a desert. Stay to the right on the trail to see the garden.

Part of the path strays towards the lake and has great views, but if you are aiming for the garden, stay to the right.

Enjoy!

One of the most amazing places I have been! The information about how these slot canyons form is wonderful and informative. Our kids loved it. We did a guided tour (Dixie Ellis) and really enjoyed it. At the time that we went, kids 7 and under were free, so that helped since we have a 7 year old, but even with that, it was probably $30 or so per person and worth it. The tour was 1.5 hours with lots of time to look around and take pictures. The guides help to take some pictures as well and give photography hints. We have not been to the Upper Antelope Canyon, but based on seeing the Lower one, I would recommend it for sure!

This is well worth the walk over the hill! Short trek with a steep start but the overlook area has a lot of different ways to look down to this amazing view. There will be a lot of people, but just be a little patience since everyone is coming and going frequently. Enjoy!

Sweeping views from the North Rim. Short stroll, worth a stop.

The best view!
