Easy trail. There are guided tours in the late afternoon/early evenings. Nice desert scenery. Not much shade, so if you’re going on the summer be prepared, but for going in the winter, it was perfect. Would definitely walk this trail again.

Overall great trail but gets a little crowded later in the day. Good to get a quick hike in.

Love this trail. Have done the trail twice in two weeks in January. Without the heat mentioned by others, it is a easy hike with areas that would be considered moderate. My favorite part is that it has very little traffic at least in January. I love to hike in solitude and this one fits the bill. I passed very few people on the trail. Nice time to reflect.

LOVED this trail. Took my 2 year old son and we went in the later day, 3pmish. I got some great photos on my iPhone and my son accomplished the trail easily. Can be a bit rocky and you are going upwards most of the way but fantastic views! Couldn’t ask for a better experience!

Challenging yet quick trail. Decent views great for a quick after work activity. Will definitely do this one again.

Really enjoyable walk through a wash. Saw an amazing petroglyph rock.

Rad trail in the SxS!!! Great terrain changes and elevation differences. Medium difficulty. Nothing too hairy or crazy. One of our favs in AZ so far !!

I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a nice hike. It has good views and lots of cacti. I hooked on to gold mine ( which is a pretty hard trail) It is wide and flat. Good for horse riding. All in all it’s a pretty decent trail

Easy beautiful hike. It’s busy, first half had the trail to ourselves 90% of the time. Second half was busier, passed or was passed every 10 minutes. Also used by horses and bikes.

Easy and quick out and back. Not much to take pictures of and the big sign warning of bears at the beginning made it a less than relaxing hike. There are better trails in Sedona.

Easy and short uphill scramble. My 13 pound dog with short legs did it easily. Great views from the top.

Easy little hike to get some quiet and peaceful views of Sedona at sunrise. I was the only person there, even in this parking lot until 8am. If you’re a photographer it’s not the best for taking pics though - unless the sunrise sky is particularly amazing.

Heavily traveled, easy hike. Very rocky. Excellent parking, restrooms at trailhead. The trail I hike the most.

This is an interesting and educational hike if you have never seen the Petrified Forest before. You might only be disappointed if you are hoping to see a forest, as all of trees have fallen! This is more of a "drive a while - get out and hike a while" hike. You can drive through the park and get out and hike a few feet or hike a mile or two at a time if you. All trails are either paved or clearly marked.

Every geologist, history nut, or Arizona enthusiast should visit this park.

Driving non-stop, through the park, takes 45 minutes. The average length of stay is 2 hours but you could stay all day and not get bored.

Don't take any wood as souvenirs, though. It is against the law - plus, letters from those who did are posted in the visitor center with tales of all the bad luck they had afterward!

Got to http://www.nps.gov/pefo/pphtml/activities.html for more info.

The park is open year round except Christmas - December 25. Park hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours during the summer.

We hiked this trail with our 2 kids (10 and 8) and loved it!! Trails were clearly marked and take you through a variety of terrain that is a little bit challenging but still fun. Amazing views at every turn. We took this to Chapel trail and hiked all the way to Chapel of the Cross. A great way to spend a morning.

Kind of confusing at first because it was called Circumference Trail. Kept going & saw signs that said we were on Freedom Trail 302. A lot of inclines - good workout.

on days I don't go hiking I like to go around this a few times with my rucksack.

Easy trail, nothing overly exciting to see.

A Crissall Thrasher sung my hound and I onto the Dynamite Trail near San Tan Mountain. The trail is well marked and easy to follow without a lot of challenges or variation in the views. A sprawling vista all the way to Usery Park and Red Mountain presented behind us before we wound back between two hills that led us to an unimpeded view of the rolling hills of San Tan Mountain. Along the way cute little Verdin and a couple Cactus Wrens chirped. Some nifty rock formations peppered the route, too. Sparkling granite, shale and at least one huge quartz deposit about a mile and a half in that looks at first like a crumbling structure were eye-catching, too..

Awesome hike for kids, ours are 5, 4, and 2. Parking was kinda crowded and a lot more people than what I usually like, but we also went on MLK day so that may be why. I imagine it’s just as busy on a weekend though. Such a beautiful place!

1/17/19 Are very beautiful and engaging hike with well maintained trails.
Parking- as you drive in on the left is some parking for a dozen cars, continue straight past the stables and large parking area on right.
Fee- $3 per person. This is a conservation park and is very well marked and maintained.
This hike had a little of everything...sun, shade, benches to rest, great views, creek crossings (2x4 bolted together for makeshift path) a little incline effort, a mine, hieroglyphics, 30+ feet tall cactus. This is great hiking trail to take guests from out of town. Enjoyed every bit of it.

Easy hike. Hiked with parents and God-parents 10-15 years ago. Need to go back!!
