A beautiful area but it is totally trashed. Not just where they are target practicing but along most all trails. A real Effen shame.

very cool and fun trails for all levels of expertise. I completed this trail on my jeep rubicon 35 inch tires 5 inch lift 4x4 with no issues.

Had a great ride out at 4 peaks over the past two weekends. First go we had 3 plus adv bikes and the following was myself on the 1200gs and another in an outlander. No issues and amazing temps

There is NO actual trail, it’s heavily overgrown & not worth the effort. Beautiful view from the overlook, but doesn’t outweigh the effort it took to get there.

My son and I took the Gladiator on the trail in mid October. We had a great time. There were plenty of camping spots and scenic lookout points. Be prepared for the long route back if you take 188 to Globe. It's considerably longer than the trail distance.

Great trail on the Ranger. However, got to a point about 2.2 miles in where the trail was completely washed out and nearly a cliff. Had to turn around and explore the west OHV trail. Gorgeous night driving with full moon rising over 4-peaks.

This trail was . . . Ok. Lots of trash on the first leg by the river, but we did get to see the wild horses and that was a very cool experience. As has been noted by other reviewers, once in the wash it’s exactly like walking along the beach. Your feet will sink with every step and it can be a bit of a slog at times. We completely missed the oven on the way in, but did catch it in the way out. Lots of cool plant life, but so-so views (in my opinion). All in all I am not upset we took the hike, but I don’t expect to do that one again.

I drove this trail last Saturday. This trail was awesome! In comparison to some of the reviews on here though, I’d highly suggest a 4WD vehicle since there are some steep grades in parts of the trail where 4WD is extremely useful. I was very thankful I did this with my truck that has a 6” lift. There are some parts where you’ll definitely need the clearance of a lifted vehicle. Overall, I loved this trail and I have every intention of doing it again in the near future. There were some incredible views and wasn’t too crowded. Thanks to AllTrails because if it wasn’t for this app, I would have never known about this trail!

Very easy trail and great for a leisurely drive out to the desert. Nothing too crazy, so a stock SUV with decent road tires will have no issues. We didn’t see a ton of traffic on the Saturday we were there. Beautiful views and changes in scenery from desert to mountain. We exited on the 188 and took the 88 (Apache Trail) back to Mesa.

Very busy road. Be aware! Starts out desert and transitions to high desert then pines as you top out about 18 mile mark. Nice scenery, well maintained FR. Barely need high clearance and a good set of tires to make it all the way through.

No clear trail markers of any kind. Bush (cactus) whacking. Not worth it.

Suns out, weather was A1! Beautiful time of year to enjoy what’s right in our backyard.

Awesome trail to take the family on. Views were amazing and the trail was great! It is a busy trail with a lot of riders to take the corners slow because you can’t see who is coming around the other side

Very cool trail that takes you down to the lake and one of the coves some very rocky areas very sandy areas the smoothest part of the trails are the lower parts and up on the ridge it’s much rougher You got to have a vehicle with some clearance four-wheel-drive is not a bad idea but I do see 2 Wheel Drive vehicles pick up trucks and such out there

Not a lot of elevation change. Some cool spots to navigate and a ton of options to try different routes. Nice and wide. Must have 4x4 for the sand. Overall solid trail

Easy trail besides one washed out obstacle. F150 with 6 inch lift and 35's made it no problem. Expect some pinstriping as the trail is narrow

Awesome as always make it as hard or easy as you want!

fun easy trail for beginners. mostly a dirt road with a few hills take your time and be safe we had to help pull an SUV that had rolled off the trail from driving too fast. but great views and picture spots

We had a great time and it is a really good trail to learn on if new at off-roading.

Mostly easy (but we had a ZJ w/6" lift & 35s), with a few alternate hard lines here and there. Nice views of the lake too! Can have a lot of traffic, because it is so close. Week days are best

I took my stock 4runner 2001 4x4 center differential lock with 265/70 16s. I did remove my running boards... trails are easy for the most part with some moderate rocky areas. However i would say any truck/SUV should be able to go on it. I was able to drive 40 mph. This was in Aug so it was pretty dry, i am not sure how things get when wet so maybe that is when 4x4 would be recommended.

Absolutely awesome drive. This was my first off-road experience. I got my 4Runner yesterday and this is a perfect trail to break in your new rig on or get some experience. I had my dog with me and she seemed to have fun. I definitely plan on coming back and exploring the side roads and hiking trails.

I think we were expecting more typical desert terrain for this hike, but the views are amazing. Right by the water for the start, but the last 3/4 of the trail are sand. I wouldn't rate this moderate; it was pretty easy and I'm just a weekend hiker. Still not sure if we found the ovens!
