Took this trail in my Tacoma and I didn't scrape the bottom and I didn't get any pinstripes. This trail is very easy. There is a few difficult areas but you can go around them if you want. This trail took me about 1.5 hours.

Let's be honest here. This is a "road", not a trail. It's a great choice for the "family SUV" if you want to take the family for a Sunday drive - nice views and a nice cool place to have a picnic at the summit. You'll get your SUV dusty, but if you're looking for an off-road excursion that takes any amount of skill and a vehicle not designed to get groceries, there are many better choices in the same vicinity.

Fun trail and challenging run at night. Without the full moon, you can get lost easy. Ended up back on the South side, instead of on the North side of the trail.

Lots of rocky areas in some dried out wash areas. Use caution in these areas. Air down tires is recommended. Initially started to record at the beginning of my journey but ended up, clearing the recording. It took way longer to get back, than anticipated.

Everything after FR-1847 is a blur and I wound up on FR-403, back to FR-1847 South and out the Bush Highway entrance, where I started.

Would be nice to run this with someone who, knows where to go at night or day? Ha ha. Contact me at www.tacomaworld.com (tacomarich), if you are a fellow, Tacoma wheeler (4x4) and want to go wheeling?

Use caution, when night wheeling. I got lost at the big, boulders area. I couldn't find FR-1851, or Srv Rd 402!

Must have gotten really off course because of all the pin stripes, from the overgrowth of trees, plants etc...

Will have to run again, in the daytime or night again. If someone would be kind, to donate a set of LEDs? 4x4 highly recommended.

Took the trail in reverse, no problems in stock Wrangler JL. Easy for the most part, only a couple of rough spots and needed 4WD for sand. Definitely watch the markers, easy to get off the trail. Nice view of Four Peaks from a distance. No traffic during the summer.

Never know what you are going to find or what you are going to see. Great views up on top back into the valley and of Roosevelt Lake coming down the back. Done the trip several times and at different times of the year. Can run into lots of snow pack during. some winters.

Great day drive. I took my xv crosstrek through all the way, a few big pot holes and rough parts but nothing crazy. Next time I'll put better shocks in before I as I bottomed out a couple times, but otherwise it was great. beautiful view of the backside when you get to the top. Bring your camera.

sand is not an understatement. there was one major hill that I would not have made it up if we were doing the trail in reverse in my truck. the dips or whoops after the sand got old pretty quick too. happy to say we did the complete trail in about 2 hours. 1997 Isuzu hombre 2wd open diff. Goodyear Wrangler trailrunner 237/75/15 aired down to 15psi. No lift.

Decent place to go for an off road adventure - but there are much better and scenic drives to take

Beautiful! We loved everything about it, especially Roosevelt Lake at the end. I would not take my little SUV on this. Much rougher than we expected. Our Jeep did great! We ended up hanging a right after crossing over the bridge off 188 and took that to 88 and enjoyed the views down Apache Trail. We live in Mesa...full trip was 6.5 hours.

Decent enough drive. Scenery is good although not great compared to other trails in the area. Great lookout over Roosevelt Lake though, maybe worth it all by itself. More or less a drive down some old dirt road. Even saw some cars driving it (I wouldn’t chance it). Any stock truck or SUV will make quick easy work of this road. We were in a Polaris General 4 and were able to cruise along at a pretty quick pace. Some great spots to stop and take in the surroundings. All in all it was enjoyable enough for a nice outing.

Very pleasant and scenic drive throughout the Four Peaks mountain range. Light traffic and easy graded dirt road for the most part. Saw one car going by but wouldn't recommend the trail for any low clearance vehicle due to some washed out and rutted in places. Will come back for sure as it was worth the view!

great drive, better scenery...

This was a fun Trail. Went there 2 days in a roll. First trip was mainly finding a spot to shoot and the second trip was for shooting and doing the whole trail to Roosevelt lake to the 60 and back home to chandler. I never had to engaged 4x4. I'm on a stock 2017 Toyota Tundra. Flew by majority of it going around 20-25 mph when it was permitted. Please please if you're out there shooting please pick up some of the trash if you can, or at least pick up after your self. Be part of the solution and not a problem. Other than that enjoy yourselves to what AZ has to offer.

Downloaded the GPX for this run. Seen it on a couple of other websites. The first 1/3 of the trail was packed with people staging their UTV's and dirt bikes along with scores more people who utilize the area for target shooting off the main trail. We made it to the river bed with some people camping and more UTV's. Stay to the right. Tons of off chute trails to go down. It offers tons of winding sandy road. There was only 1 uphill climb that was a little sketchy but with the proper line, not an issue. Overall, made it in and out within 1hr.

This is an amazing trail for the scenery. Not difficult at all. Never put the rig into 4 wheel drive. Nice, cool, getaway. Some really nice spots to take pics as well. Totally recommend.

easy going trail with great views.

what's makes for a nice half day run is:
up 4 peaks from beeline, down the east side to Roosevelt, then south to apache trail and back into AJ/town. great views, some hiking and lakes along the ways.

Great trail to learn on very slow paced so no stress, need 4x4 in spots due to sand and high clearance due to moguls... pay attention to markers on the trail or you'll loop back (which may not be bad if you have time)
