Hiking

Easy trail and a quick hike. Nice little loop to do with my kids (ages 5, 9, & 12). Nothing spectacular, but this was a really nice break to social distance and get outside.

Did this trail in July and the weather was perfect. Light rain in the afternoon. Aspen trees were green at this time of the year. Trail was easy, some rocks that can be avoided. I will do this trail again but at a different time of the year to see the yellow color change

Awesome hike! Only thing hard about it is the constant climb, but the view is worth it. I placed a Geocache today near the cabin if anyone reading this looks for them. Happy hiking!

Not bad. Definitely the scenery stays the same and gets tiring. Solid up and down. Felt like the water line part wasn’t going to end.

Ride this trail very often. Easy access from Fort Tuthill and a great starter to anyone visiting Flagstaff and wanting to ride.

Decent trail. A little tough on the backside in the sun at 90 degrees. The sandy trail going in can be a little awkward. Easy trail take the outside loop. Better hike take the summit; even better, start the summit on the backside

Starts out on a wide trail before narrowing at the end. AllTrails app was helpful keeping me on the right trail. Many offshoots that could get you lost so pay attention. Nice view at the end at Fisher Point but nothing spectacular. Nice, easy forest stroll.

this was planned as a nice quiet hike in the woods to escape a 116 day in Phoenix. it began as a nice hike with my friend. we were about one-third of the way through and we noticed clouds forming. soon after we felt the rain and then the hail. it did not last very long. thankfully the hail was not extremely large. the rain actually helped because it cooled it down. it was over 91 whenvwe began and it dropped it under 90° for the rest of the hike. this trail was very enjoyable. it was not very busy and there weren't too many people out hiking. there were a few bicycles yet not too many.

Great trail. Easy hiking except for the ascent in the beginning, so is a moderate. Trail is not too rocky. Some stretches are a bit sandy - not so fun. Caves were better than expected. Worth the detour. Great views. I agree with a previous review that the little spur half way through is a bit of a head scratcher. Not sure why that is part of the trail. Also not crowded. We will return to this one.

Pretty trail with cooler temperatures and shade most of the way. Be aware that this is actually several trails combined to make a loop, which is nice so you don’t have to go back the same way you came. Make sure you keep track of the trail on the app, as it goes over the Arizona Trail, Schultz, and Sunset trails. One part went along the road for a minute and crossed the street to meet the Schultz to the Arizona trail. There wasn’t a lot of reception in the area, so if I didn’t have the trail downloaded on my phone already I wouldn’t have figured it out.

Not a bad stroll. I would classify hike as easy as there wasn’t much incline. Beautiful wildflowers and scenery but not too much shade

Very pleasant trail. Correctly labeled as easy. Part shade/part sun. Actually very peaceful with one very big exception. Bikers. Lots of them. All very polite. No issues, but takes away from the experience. A few spots were buggy. Also there is no signage for this trail. The name appears to only exist on AllTrails so you need to trust the app. It’s a combo of a number of different trails.

Great summer hike. Lots of shade the whole way. We went on a Saturday and only saw two small groups of people. Gentle up hill on the way back. My dogs found one waterhole but mostly a dry. Cool rock formations on the last mile. My mileage was 7.1. A little higher than others.

Wow what a trail, pretty much the perfect day hike! First off the road to the trailhead is possible in a 2wd but you're gonna have to go slow and have trust your car. In some places I had to go like 5 mph. The trail is well marked and the views start right away. The scars from the wildfire are definitely visible but thats a feature of the hike. Overall a challenging but comfortable hike, which took me about 5 hours roundtrip. Recommend bringing a rain coat as even when the forecast said 10% chance of rain it still drizzled for a little bit. 2 liters of water was enough, mostly for the uphill. Oh yeah, dont count the switchbacks.

I was the only one on the trail in early evening. Hiked initially the trail clearly visible at the beginning, but this was not Brandis Trail...trail name unknown. Follow old two wheel drive road. Hiked to the end, near the fence line. Easy trail. Saw other trail junctions but had no idea of trail name. A nice get out and enjoy nature trail, although not sure how nice trail would be if an ATV passed me as there were signs of OHV use on trail.

Really liked this trail. We started at 6:30am on a weekday and only saw a handful of runners and mtn bikers. Our mileage was almost exactly 8 miles from the car and back so the mileage here is not quite accurate. It starts and ends at Shultz tank which my water-loving dog really appreciated. It has some really great views without too much of a climb. I highly recommend this hike, really makes you appreciate both Elden and the San Fran peaks.

Easy in downhill..... at top of loop 1/2 way finished, you turn back and entire way back is uphill. Not too bad. Beautiful Aspen forests. Shady breaks.
