Should be rated easy, not moderate. Only a couple of long gentle slopes, and the trail is smooth and sandy and pretty.

We love the views!

***Make sure to take the first shortcut if you only want to do 3.5 miles** The second shortcut is still 6-7 miles. Other than that, it was a great hike for the little ones, very flat.

This is a nice trail for people with limited hiking experience.

Nice easy trail with a shortcut to make it 3.1 miles rather than 6.5 I believe in and out total.

This is actually a 6.5 mile loop. It’s flat but you can pick up other trails If you want to climb a little. I️ like it because I️ can move pretty quickly and it’s not heavily travelled the further out you get. There are two connectors along the way so you can shorten the distance.

Good trail to take your guests

This is not hiking. Went in off of Tatum just south of Mayo. It’s ridiculous.

A nice, close by getaway for urbanites when time is tight. If you don't scan the horizon too hard and ignore the traffic signal on Carefree Highway, you can fairly well imagine yourself farther away than you really are.

Great little trail! if you stay on the paved path, it only takes about 30 mins to take a loop, but there's tons of little side paths you can explore. Lots of lottle hidden gems back there, we took some very pretty pics!

This trail has beautiful scenery of the desert and some great wildflowers this time of year. Not too difficult but a good trail when carrying my toddler on my back. Especially like the shortcut making the trail 3 mi instead of 7mi!

This trail starts out with a little climb that is beautiful with spring flowers and green grass, then descends to the dry river bed. It meanders across the dry bed several times and is just a nice flat trail, Very pretty. It is a long hike but because it's flat most of the way it's easy.

This is not an "out and back" unless you want it to be. It is now about a 6 1/2 mile loop. There are also a couple of connectors which can considerably shorten the loop. Nice easy trail that winds in, out, and along the wash.

Did Apache Wash today. I was looking for something new today and landed on this one on the opposite side of town for me. It actually is quite far north for me, almost to Cave Creek! It is a very interesting trail. It does not climb any mountains but is 6.59 miles from start to finish. That's a pretty long hike. It is also quite scenic, starting out with a small cactus forest. The wash sweeps across the trail and there are many warnings to not cross when flooded. Some of the side trails do climb mountains and I might go back to give them a try. It was a great hike.

Great easy trail, perfect for beginners. Nice wide track. Was able to get a good feel for my bike and gear changing, etc. Some decent hilly areas but nothing difficult.

My favorite trail since it's so close to home. The only reason why it does not get 5/5 stars is because you have to cross 2 major roads to continue the trail in order to make a 10 mile "out&back" route. I find it to be very unsafe. That's when I incorporate my sprinting!

Great 5 min or all day hike. The portion near Tatum is paved and has a small loop trail which is nice for kids. Very flexible trail with dirt trails fun for biking, walking, horses or dogs. This trail always makes me feel like I am away from the city for a a while despite it being right at my feet. Be careful of the ants though. There always seems to be a lot.
