Easy morning hike. Saw jackrabbits for the first time. Lots of them.

This is a fabulous hike! My wife and I did this hike today. We could some stunning views back into the valley as well as points to the north and west. We didn't encounter many people on most of the loop. The exception is the Mesquite Canyon portion starting at the intersection with the Ford Canyon trail. But getting really busy inside the intersection with the Willow Canyon trail. Keep an eye out for wildlife. We saw 6 mule deer. 2 off the Goat Camp and 4 trying their luck at a horse watering set up along the Mule Deer portion of the loop. For folks that don't live in the Phoenix area, note that this trail is in a county park and has a day use fee. It is well worth the fee. But something to keep in mind. You can get a map of the trails in the park for free. Unless you want to pay for a waterproof version. In our case, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and no forecast for rain. For all, this is a multi-use area. We ran into mountain bikers. Most of the trail is narrow for so encountering bikes makes for an interesting dance. Fortunately, there are gentle slopes along the trail. We had a great time and enjoyed a great day of hiking in the desert!

Nice, flat nature loop. Warm up on this small loop before doing the Long Blak Rock loop! Beautiful scenery here to make you want to go explore more of the parks trails!
