Very challenging and a little hard to see the trail going up but you can’t get lost. The view from the top is well worth it!! I would definitely wear sturdy shoes and may use a pole next time.

If you’re looking for an easier trail, I would recommend doing Sidewinder to Ocotillo. Only about half a mile of uphill. Ocotillo to Sidewinder is almost 2 miles of going up and down. Overall amazing trail!

If you want an easier route go sidewinder to ocotillo....if you want a more challenging route go ocotillo to sidewinder. We did the later and the last half of the hike is almost all climbing. Was definitely a good hike!! Some bikes on the trail and we saw a couple of horses.

12.3 miles by the Alltrails app. Lots of stair stepping the last mile. Superb views, saw javelina early. Drank a gallon of water...

When they say the Limestone Tr 252 is primitive they mean it. The trail is much more narrow and overgrown than the other portions of trail. But that was half the fun for me, and not impossible to navigate.

Pleasant hike, good workout. The view from the saddle is decent. Overall not in my top ten for the Phoenix area. Trail is good but not well marked in spots.

One of the most beautiful hikes in the Phoenix area and a great workout! Highly recommend, not many people so plenty of solitude moments. No shade which makes it seem warmer than it really is. This might be a good hike to do on a more overcast day or start early in the morning. Watch out for mountain bikers. ☺

This was a great trail. A little step up from those trails closer to phoenix. What makes it different is the chance to see deer (we saw two), a creek (depending on time of year), and a little more tree coverage in some places. Slightly cooler temps too. **One note: we entered at the southern trailhead. When we got out on the northern part we noticed a section for paying $3. **

Great trail, the final turn onto 248 to the top of the Mesa is overgrown with grasses and cactus- not much of a trail. This hike is difficult, bring water and start early. No scrambling but rough patches of terrain that will slow you down. Not much cellular service. Lot of tight trail with high grass, be careful in rattlesnake season. Views are amazing. Expect around 13 miles according to Garmin and watch (14+ if you miss a turn like I did!)

The trail was great for my dogs and I. There is a fee to get into the park. Worth it for the great views and well marked trails though. Everyone we passed was really polite!
