Great views, good hike. Some up hill, little shade

nice cool day, nice trail , well maintained trails and trailhead park, fresh water bathrooms.

Nice hike.. our dog enjoyed the views too

Great hike, beautiful city views! We connected to Skyline Crest and climbed the summit as well. Very well marked trails. Good shoes and lots of water are a must!

Nice hike.

Wonderful, beautiful free area for all levels of skill. We'll kept trails, plenty of maps throughout the trails. Highly recommended it.

Easy

It was a great hike with a nice balance of elevation changes. The view was amazing and the park was extremely clean and was well presented.

On the right day, with a clear sky, beautiful.

Enjoyed the rocks and foliage and the views. However, trails were not well marked so gave me less confidence as to where they led. Next time I would go on some of the other higher trails to see different views. Petroglyphs were very cool. Unfortunately, they had to be protected behind fencing, but could see them up close! Also the directions using this app we inadequate and there was no access. After asking people in the neighborhood, we ended up going south on Verrado to Lost Creek Dr near golf course greens to find the limited parking at the trailhead. A good day none the less.

My wife, kids (9,11 and 13) and I really enjoy this trail as it provides the right amount workout and difficulty for all. We seem to prefer counterclockwise and save the switchbacks for our decent. This was the first time going to the summit as part of our prep for Camelback. The extra 270 ft of elevation wasn't bad at all and the view was a nice treat.

Good loop

We hiked clockwise on this exposed terrain loop where the steep incline switchbacks lead to the Vista View trail. The effort to the summit was the same as the switchbacks. The desert mountain panoramic views appeared greener after the recent February rain. The east side of the loop was easier than the west side climb because of the natural downhill momentum and gradual decent. Enjoyed this midday hike!
Free parking. Nice restrooms.

amazing trail

This trail has some decent sights, not all bare desert. Worth the hike and trip.

There are many visible trails but they are not marked, making navigation difficult. Using a GPS is very helpful. The hike itself is easy and the petroglyphs are cool. I saw several lizards and a roadrunner. I would recommend taking the "short loop" instead of this hike since it takes you closer to the isolated "mountain" and there's really nothing of interest on the north boundary.

I hike this trail 2 or 3 Times a week. Counterclockwise gives you the best work out. Morning or late afternoon is the best time to go. It is labeled as hard but it is only hard at the very top.

Nice trail but need hiking boots. There are lots of loose rock and some ledges to climb. Rail not well marked so need gps and you’ll be fine great day

Such a beautiful park with great trails. The trails are well marked and wide and well maintained and the area is surrounded by mountains. My favorite park in the area. Best of all it is free to get in and parking is good as well as nice restroom facilities. This trail is moderate and there are many offshoots to get onto other trails and tailor your hike to your distance

Really nice park! The trail is very well cared for, clearly defined and well marked. Moderate in difficulty, including the trip to the summit which the sign somehow states is black diamond - it's got loose rock, but you aren't scaling rocks and it's not technical. Great rewarding view from top. Took dogs, great for paws. Nice length, can add on for a longer hike. Nice restroom with running water at trailhead, no fountain that I saw.

This was my second attempt at Turnbuckle (I was out of shape the first time) and it was much more pleasant. The weather wasn’t so good but the trail was well traveled today by many! Loved the views and made it to the Valley Vista which made for great daunting pics.ove this park!

Had my wife with me. Did the basic trail without going to the peak. Took an hour and a half at a leisurely rate. Clockwise you run into some somewhat steep switchbacks near the halfway point. The second half had a steep downhill with some loose rocks as a trail. Didn't see any litter and there was a nice breeze.

This is a great trail. My 5 and 9 year old hiked it. It is rocky in spots. The petroglyphs are amazing and unlike others in the local area. We were able to hike this trail in running sneakers. Great views of downtown Phoenix. The one problem is the limited parking at the trailhead but I’m sure that will change in the future as the sign read Verrado temporary trail system. All in all a really fantastic hike.

Make sure you have hiking shoes. My daughter had on Nike Running shoes and kept getting cactus prongs stuck in her foot so then the complaining started and we turned around.

This is a really fun trail, its wide yet bumpy and rolling. and the fact that is connects to the trails at Skyline Park makes it even better because it gives you access to all the trails there as well.

Great trail and the people are always courteous

Great trail for running. Only real difficult part in the short offshoot to the top.

Nice hike. A little steep for small distance on back side.
Worth doing.
