Great hike with lots of diversity. We left the trail a couple of times because it was washed out and overgrown in places but found our way back quickly. Will do this one again. Took us three hours which included time for picture breaks and snacks. We owned the trail today and did not see another person until we were back in the parking lot.

This is my second visit to this great trail. Kind of rocky in places and you definitely need a walking stick for this trek. was disappointed when I got to the water pools and hieroglyphics and witnessed some areas of destruction of the Hieroglyphics by vandals. This is such a spiritual place and to see this was rather saddening.

Not friendly for dogs, lots of places too steep for dogs you have to carry them. Take 3L water per person.

From the siphon draw trailhead to the top of Flatiron, it is 6 miles. so be prepared to hike 12 total. I think this measures from the Basin. This was a super fun hike. Lots of scary, sheer rocks and climbing over boulders. 6 gals did this hike, one only 12! I wish I brought my gloves. We started at 7:30 am and the weather was amazing! Have fun!!

Enjoyable hiking on a rocky trail. Kid and dog friendly.

I did this hike in February 2019. I agree with the comments about harder on the way down, especially if you have had knee issues. Leave at sunrise. I took my time & it took 2.5 hours up, 1.5 hours up at the rim with a walk out to the tree, with 2.5 hours back. My knees hated me for the next month, but I did it & it was worth it. Bring lots of water/electrolytes & lots of snacks.
