Great hike! History everywhere. Great views, if the weather cooperates. We had steady rain on our trip, except when we approached Chilkoot pass. Then the sideways rain hit us so hard it bruised our faces! But I didn't mind. It made me appreciate the original gold-seekers' experiences in 1897.
I'm a heavy hiker and I did the trail in day hikers. I damaged my feet on the rocky moraine leading to the pass. Please consider hiking boots.
Day 1, to Sheep Camp.
Day 2, over the pass to Happy Camp.
Day 3, finish.
We flew to Whitehorse, took the bus to Carcross and the White Pass & Yukon Route train to Skagway. If that works with where you're coming from, I recommend the train. It's a great part of the overall trip. And check out Dawson City when you're done, too.
