Pretty cool trail for jogging, fat biking, although you may run into hunters as I did.

HikingGreat!Snow

Did it with dogs. Got the heart rate going on the way up. Took about 2 hours up and one hour down. Used ice grippers on our boots. There was a lot of fresh snow, but the trail was easy to follow. However, we got within 100 yards of the top picnic table and the trail was blown over. We were waist deep. After a few feet of crawling, we turned around. Note to those who like to butt slide down- wear snow pants without pockets. Layers were smart-I was hot on the way up.

Hiking

I took the longer moderate trail thinking I should take it easy, huge mistake unless you've got snowshoes. The snow was so deep in some places the length made it treacherous.

This indicates the trail starts out by the Parks, but you can drive in about a half mile to a parking area. Trail is actually on the creek so definitely a Winter walk. Encountered others cross country skiing and riding fat bikes.

Great trail with beautiful views all around. Pretty steep from the beginning, poles and cleats required.

10/28/2020 The trail is in great shape, but I recommend microspikes because it is pretty packed with ice.

Walking

Final access road was closed and it added a good bit of mileage. Definitely recommend spikes for the last portion if there’s any snow. First half was pretty boring, would classify as easy.

Great trail. 17 Oct 20. Went mountain up and mountain down. Started at 830, ground was pretty frozen the whole route. Got in to snow about 1/3 way up. Some areas of snow from the wind drifts closer to the peak were about knee deep. Most was ankle deep off of the beaten path. Completed in 3 hours.

I'm sure with different shoes and perhaps some trekking poles the experience would have been more enjoyable. I did however enjoy the views at the top!

Didn't get all the way to the top since I went out too late. Definitely need poles to get down, as other reviewers said. I can see how it might be more picturesque earlier in the season, but it was still nice especially considering its proximity.
