Great if you have a family and small children and want a trail that’s easy for everyone.

Easy trail IMO, less travelled even in the summer months, you can rent cabins along the trail. Rain jacket, mosquito repellent, and fishing rod are musts.

This is a great trail with taking a simple walk in and around nature with the family

Trail is in great shape. Beautiful hike. Travel wisely, thick bear country. I like to hike this after the leaves have fallen.

Trail-head parking was easy to find, and pretty empty before sunrise. Trail is pretty easy to follow and clearly marked at a few trail intersections, until you come to the moraine field towards the end. There are cairns throughout the boulder field, but its easy to get turned around. When in doubt, keep to the left side of the boulder field and keep your eyes pealed for the cairns. The little hut at the end can provide some cover for extremely windy days. No animal sightings :(. Great hike!

Such an amazing and incredible hike with views to last a lifetime! Definitely a good hike. The hike itself is a for intermediate hikers. Or if you want to take more breaks to complete it. It’s challenging not difficult.

A nice relaxing stroll. Didnt see a waterfall (i think the one pictured is for barbara falls).

got my back window broke and all my stuff stolen at this trail head.

Very nice trail in Autumn and I look forward to skiing it.

I really liked this trail because it brought us to the beautiful lake!!! Lake was an amazing especially if we are talking about Autumn! We did not make a loop around the lake because we had poppy just 8 weeks old! You can see here pictures when she was doing the whole trail by herself!!! I am so proud of here!!! It was very interesting and kind of easy!!! We did not run still because of the poppy Aurora!!! Mom Destiny and Dad Ice, their poppy Aurora and uncle Bandit were on the trail also!!! 4 Siberian Huskys - that is how we did it!!! Almost 14 km for poppy!!! Good job Aurora!!! Our girl!!!

Beautiful hike with lots of beautiful scenery

Beautiful hike in the Fall! Great trail that takes you by lakes, a stream a boulder field at the end. Well maintained and traveled.

I like that it's more secluded that the airstrip hike and the greater elevation change.

There's lots of trail work going on so be careful you stay on track. This app helped a lot for that. Saw moose and lots of bear scat so be careful/ prepared while out and about.

Such an awesome and beautiful hike. After a few rest stops, some pickings of blueberries and crowberries on the backside of Baldy and a fair amount of peaceful time at the top, it took me about 4 hours (starting at the bottom of Baldy). Can’t wait to return with a drone.

Love Eklutna Lake. Many great hikes around here and I highly recommend staying a night or two at the Serenity Falls Hut after mile 12. Look forward to returning soon.

Great little walk! Easy to follow directions. The view at the end might be better once the leaves start falling- the foliage didn’t allow for much viewing of the river. But Anchorage in the distance was cool. Somewhere between easy and moderate walk altogether.

Great views of Eagle and Symphony lakes. There are about 3 campsites down towards Eagle lake and 3 or 4 more down near Symphony lake. You cannot camp in or near the shelter because of terrain. There is one tree for shade in the area. If camping there in the summer, bring your own shade. The rock scramble easily adds a few miles worth of effort to the hike.

The trail is reopened after the fatal mauling.
Be bear aware; this trail is part of the bears home area, bring bear spray, make noise, dont hike alone and stay together.

The trail itself is well maintained, easy to follow and clean. The last section you need to cross a boulder field, watch your step, and take your time. The first bridge is roughly half way there. We had no issue with bugs but still brought bug spray.

It is a long walk bring enough water and snacks/lunch. don't forget to bring your trash out with you.

Beautiful hike lots of atvs and bikes but they all slowed down for those of us who where walking.

Beautiful! Gorgeous day. Kids had a great time. Views were exellent. Didn't make it the full 25 miles around the lake but had a great time nonetheless.

It’s a nice trail system to ski and walk on. The reason I give it a 4 is because it’s fairly boring and the trees don’t allow you to view much of the surrounding mountains. Nice for walking dogs, but I’ve seen several moose while on this trail.

Good easy hike, nothing too steep. If you do choose to go out on the spur at the eastern point of the loop you have the option to continue on several other trails. Reccomend keeping this app and your phone's location service on during the hike as a quick reference tool as there are a few forks where it isnt clear which way to go. Overall good time and great view of the city if you go out on the eastern spur.

We rode to the end of the lake by the Airstrip and a black bear ran out on the trail towards the lake so they are definitely out there! The trail itself was easy for riding and the lake is beautiful!

This is a wonderful place to bike or walk. We use these trails just about everyday!

Closed due to brown bear attacks 7/12/18

Don’t do this hike right now, there was a fatal bear attack weeks ago and Fish and Game was unable to find the bear responsible in this area. They recently reopened the area, but with an increase in bear sightings in the area they closed it and placed traps. Please be safe! (ADN article below for more information)

I biked the from the Russian river camp ground to the cooper trailhead. then snug harbor rd back to rrcg. no car shuttle. if coming the opposite way, it's a big climb up snug to the cooper trailhead. the trail was in great shape, except between apsen flats and ressurection. either super overgrown, washed out (some bits were super washed out. i was standing in the middle of the trail, at the bottom of the washout, and the actual trail was at chest level) or straight up mud pits. either ends of the trail were great though. It's super beary to begin with. and the overgrown-ness made it feel even more beary. trailhead to trailhead took 6-7 hours. I'd do it again, but before it can get overgrown. or maybe early fall when it starts to die back. the dispersed camp sites are big enough for 1 tent. I didn't see a single other person on the trail. aside from the people between the rrcg and rr falls trail.

Never saw a waterfall & BRING BUG SPRAY!!!! Nice trail to just stroll down and dip your feet in the river

Great first hike with my dog. Views aren't the best but still a relaxing hike. The trail leads off into a few other trails to explore next time. We only went as far as the bridge over the creek this time around.
