Photos of Alaska Hiking Trails

Once on this trail you're committed to an all-uphill on rooted trail winding through the trees and up alongside the trail's namesake. Not an extremely tough trail by any means but you EARN the views once into the open high valley. Once at the tarn (located well up into the valley and below the far end of thr rocky edifice on the right side of the valley) can either kick-back, soak your 'dogs' in the icy water or head up toward the left ridge at the headwall of the valley and complete your journey with a summit of 5,000ft. South Suicide Peak along a pleasant ridge trail.
