Easily marked trails. Some of the boardwalk is loose so I wouldn’t bring a heavy stroller. Plenty of shade but plenty of bugs. Bring your spray. A very easy trail great for kids and adults. Kept my dog on leash and he enjoyed the walk too!

Great trail to hike. We did the loop around. Lots of bugs at the beginning and end. Some hard rock climbing but the views were all worth it! Hiked 7/9/20

This is a stunning trail. We started off at the eagle summit trail head and headed towards twelve mile summit. We did this 27.5mile hike in three days. The first day we hiked into ptarmigan creek hut which was about 10.5 miles in. Be aware of the mosquitoes as the cabin was almost unmanageable to sleep in due to mosquitoes. On day two we hiked about 7 miles through swamp pass and arrived at the next cabin. Swamp pass can be wet and the boardwalk through it can be slippery so be careful. Day 3 was about 10 miles out and included a good amount of elevation gain but the views of the whites from the summits are insane. The incline is manageable as the switchbacks are really gradual. Overall the views are amazing and the tundra is a truly unique environment that needs to be explored.

A great trail for a solid no gain run. Few roots and uneven elevated wood platforms in the Borreal side, but that just made it fun.

Plenty of rain lately. Trail in great shape. Couple trees across the trail.

The trail was in pretty good shape when we went in May of 2020. Fairly easy with views that definitely make it worthwhile.

This is a great hike if you want a good cardio. With amazing views on the way up. However, the trail is very narrow and can make it difficult to balance at times.

Angel Rocks > Chena Hot Springs Saturday was brilliant! Began trail at 1345 and finished at about 1920. However, this included several scenic stops and much shenanigans. We also got a little lost in the last two miles where you’ve got a few options of other trails near Chena Hot Springs. The Angel Rocks part of the trail was LOADED with people. Beyond that though, it was just us. Very peaceful and beautiful views for a couple miles on the summit trail. The trail is in amazing condition with the exception of the last mile or two. The last mile has quite a bit of water and mud still, but if you pay close attention the the right or left of these watery areas there are many narrow mini-trails that are dry and take you right around it. As a result, never had to pass through any water or mud. The trail itself is also narrow enough for the last 2 miles or so that you can just ninja run from side to side which is quite fun!

The wife and I did the Angel Rocks Trail 3.6mi. Nice trail, nice scenery, and the hike was fun. I would recommend getting there before 10am. The parking lots were full. Pet friendly. We seen all kinds of skill levels on the trail. This trail is can be done by all ages. Most people were wearing tennis shoes. Views are awesome.

Just hiked this today and took the whole family. We had a great time and my 6 year old even made it. It gets steep at the board walk but the view at the top is worth it. We will definitely be doing this trail again!

Just did this hike for the first time over the weekend. Started early, about 9am. Trail was dry, gets steep once you reach the boardwalk. Full sun at the top with stunning views.

It is a nice trail. However the map does not stay on the trail so it is not a verifiable trail.

Great trail with some steep points near the top but breathtaking views made it worth it. The backside of the trail is pretty slick with loose gravel in multiple spots.

I really wanted to like this trail but not even halfway through it was washed out. we tried to detour but couldn’t get back on the trail and ended up just walking through to the archery range and gave up. Hopefully in the summer it will be better.

HikingBridge outFloodedMuddy

I visit this trail at least twice a year but right now in the spring with the amount of snow we had this year it is just a bad time to visit. The bridges are in bad shape and in quite a few places the bridge is just barely there or is out entirely. We got close to the end and had to turn back because we just didn’t want to risk it with the logs people put down when the bridge went out. Definitely wait till next month or when they get the chance to fix the bridges.
