Great hike! Recommend trekking poles to help with the climb down if you choose to go down the steeper side.

The trailhead is confusing to find. You will go thru the locked red gate then continue to the electrical structure with the fence around it then if you look to the left the trailhead starts. The hike is great but up is a must. Hiking sticks would have been helpful.

Closed due to brown bear attacks 7/12/18

Don’t do this hike right now, there was a fatal bear attack weeks ago and Fish and Game was unable to find the bear responsible in this area. They recently reopened the area, but with an increase in bear sightings in the area they closed it and placed traps. Please be safe! (ADN article below for more information)

Dog and kid friendly. One of the most beautiful platform decks that I’ve ever been too. My 3-year old daughter and I can’t stop returning. Check out the hollow tree along the route as it also makes for a great picture. We did see a black bear along the trail but it didn’t mind our presence.

My favorite hike. Done it many times!

Short walk. Very beautiful view! My friend and I found a less traveled trail that took us down to the falls. Fun & great for some pictures.

Really enjoyed this hike.

Nice easy quick hike! Worth the views.

I did this trail with my girlfriend and our 1 year old son a couple days ago and there were a billion flies on the ridge. Other than the flies it was absolutely amazing. However, this is a faily tough hike with steep inclines on loose rock. If you go past "Tucker Mountain" on the small game trail to the left expect to hike another 45 minutes and gain around 800ft in elevation to reach Magnificent Proper. We made it about 300ft from the summit before a very steep drop in the trail forced us to turn around (too risky with a baby in hand). All in all an amazing hike with incredible views.

Great first hike with my dog. Views aren't the best but still a relaxing hike. The trail leads off into a few other trails to explore next time. We only went as far as the bridge over the creek this time around.

Amazing . Just amazing.

Heck. This hike is nicely steep but the view is so amazing!! Well worth the sweat on a nice day.

Took the trail back to Symphony and Eagle lakes, it was absolutely beautiful. Well worth the trek!

It’s more like a large creek. Great trial though

The trail for the most part was well labeled until we had to cross a rather large river which I wasn’t expecting but none the-less it was still a really nice and easy hike with no large hills.

This was a quick easy walk to check out the falls.

I'm a little out of shape, so this was a difficult climb for me. I took my time and I achieved it. There were, however, people trail running it. Those people are super heroes in my book! haha. Whether you're fit or not, the beautiful views are worth the climb!

This was a very beautiful trail. Scenic and easy. There was a yellow bear alert up when we were there. Be safe and alert at all times.

It’s a great hiking trail. A lot of uphill but it’s not too bad even for a sedentary out-of-shape person like me. I didn’t do the entire trail though, stopped at the bridge with a nice view of the river and the valley. We saw a moose along the trail.

on Mount Magnificent

There is no Tucker Mountain here. This is Mount Magnificent. Tucker is the name of a survey marker along the trail and nothing more.

First time on 6/20/18 and it was beyond beautiful. So appreciate the info of going right at the fork to do the scramble up and took the easy pease trail back down. Will most definitely do this again!

If you want a challenge right away, take the right fork! It is NOT moderate hike but if you prefer to do the moderate version, take the left fork. We took the right fork and came back down on the left which felt a well-deserved hike. The view on summit is rewarding, I promise you that! The trail is very muddy and wet on some parts from left fork due to snow melting. But the right? Very dry. It is moderately trafficked and trail is free of litter (yay) no designated parking, just park behind another car.

Easy, short walk to South fork Falls on the South fork River ( not Barbara falls) Barbara falls drive is named after the developers ex-wife decades ago. The dirt road from the gate and bridge go to various homesteader places, so the roads and trails are not maintained. To get to South Fork Falls, follow Waterfall to the stop sign turn right on River park dr. until you get to the Y and go left on Ken Logan Cir. you will have to park a 100 ft. or so from the gate because there is a fire lane on both sides. You don't want to drive down Barbara Falls Dr. because it winds and turns and there are several dead end streets, the other way is more of a straight shot and less confusing. There are lots of black and brown bears in the area, be prepared and make noise and also plenty of cow moose with calves in the spring and early summer so be very alert. Have fun!!

The. trail is in very good condition but a few muddy areas.

Didn't summit on 2 accounts. My phone decided to end it's life mysteriously at the 2nd false peak. The wind up there was quite intense. I figured I could come back when odds were better. The views though of Eagle River and the Mountains are spectacular and I will be back soon to see that American Flag up close and personal.

The perfect challenge! Trekking poles made it easier both going up and coming down. It was very windy at the top, so consider this when deciding to hike. Enough people that I didn’t feel too wary of bears. I’ll do this one again for certain.
