Completed this hike in the middle of summer and it was still in the 40s most of the day. While some may argue the grandeur of this hike does not live up to other alaskan hikes around the coasts, it does present a mysterious and unusually quiet beauty a seasoned hiker will appreciate. The trail can be difficult to follow at times as it does not appear to be well traveled. Snow was noted in small patches here even in july and the wind is very strong as there is not much to stop it at these altitudes so dress appropriately even if it is warm in fairbanks

Hiked this with my best friend in 30 hours. It was an awesome trail and would've been a little better if we slowed down to enjoy it more. We started at 12 mile and ended at eagle summit. At the north fork shelter there was plenty of water but at the ptarmigan creek shelter there was a hole in the bucket. So plan accordingly.
