Easy and beautiful views! Totally worth it!

Saw a moose cow and some pretty male spruce grouse.

One of my favorite hikes but the wind can turn cold. I always wish i had a dog or hiking buddy as i came across some fairly fresh scat a couple of days ago.

big fan of this route up flat top, not as steep as you summit either. great for the casual hiker.

leave nothing of value in your vehicles!

Really pretty and sunshine hits all day on trail. Not a hard hike but it is longer if you’re hiking and not on fat bike or xskiing.
Also, you have to shuttle cars. Park at prospect and end up at flattop parking lot or vice versa.

We went up the backside from bear valley, and it was absolutely stunning. We all had ice spikes on our shoes which made it easier to climb, definitely wouldn’t have been able to if we didn’t have them with all the ice and snow.
Fun to slide down on the way back!

Trail was iced over. Made for a slippery walk. Should have brought my micro spikes

Easy hike. Experienced rain, hail and snow in a matter of minutes while hiking. It was a breeze for a 4 year old. The river is beautiful frozen.

Great hike after work today. Careful on the road up because it is starting to get icy from water flowing across it. Lower part of the new trail is a bit muddy. Mother black bear with two yearlings in the bowl to the east of the new trail and the saddle. They have been in the area for a couple of weeks doing their bear thing. They were in a stand off with a curious dog. Ran into the dog owners at the trail head searching for their lost dog. Hope they found him.

Hiked in early October and was not prepared for the snow but did fine. The ridge views and water view were top notch, especially with the snow. Also saw some paragliders at Flattop. I took about 3 hours to get close to the peak, stopped short, and then an hour to get back to the parking lot; I turned around maybe half a mile from the end/actual peak since it was getting dark and colder.

Part of the assent made me wish I had crampons, but was manageable. While walking the ridge, at times, I wish I had snow boots+pants or snowshoes. Great hike, despite my poor preparation.

Weather got really bad at the top so couldn't see anything. I'll have to do it again on a sunny day.

Super pretty hike! A bit challenging sometimes, so be careful. The summit is amazing! So many awesome views from every angle!

Easy loop trail with scenic overlook of Anchorage.

I love ridgeline hikes so this was a great time for me. Great views of Cook Inlet and into Chugach; Ptarmigan Peak and the Suicide Peaks are apparent and begging for attention across Rabbit Creek. This hike is great when the clouds are brushing the mountains.

Great view of the highway and some nice, rocky terrain that was less boring than the usual. Interesting to see the remains of past wildfires as well.

Its a short walk with a great view of Anchorage. Very kid friendly, a good amount of people. A warm up before doing one of the other trails out of the parking lot.
