Margeaux Loop, up one side of the road and back on the other side. Biggest hills I ever skied down in the two grooves... I only jumped out once , chickened out...!

great hike, some rock climbing last 200 feet or so, worth it.

Great easy winter hike!

The latest snow fall makes this trail quite enjoyable but it’s still Icy in spots.

Spectacular views!

Despite it being warm for the last couple days, the snow pack was pretty solid. There were a couple places above 3000' where I was postholing a couple feet. The trail is defined all the way to the top. It did get surprisingly windy up there--probably 30+ mph gusts. I did it in a little under 3 hours (probably a fast pace for most).

This is on the air force base. Don’t waste your time!

Wow! A little strenuous, but worth the view!!

Nice lake area. Flat not challenging at all. Not meant people In the winter time.

A moderate hike by Chugach standards due to the unrelenting elevation gain but it's all open with no major scrambling to speak of. About 4 false summits to give you a water & snack break with a view. Once at the summit you're treated to views of Eagle River Valley, Hurdygurdy, Cantata, Calliope and Triangle Peaks as well as a small slice of Turnagain Arm in the distance. Easiest 5,000 footer in the park with one of the BEST seats in the South Fork Valley.

Nice easy winter hike with a lot of animal tracks. We saw fox, lynx, and rabbit tracks and 6 moose.

Easy trail in the winter, it is pretty icy right now. I didn't use cleats or spikes, but will if I go again before spring. It is hard to keep track of the trail at times, and there was a pretty steep hill to go down on the ice. I will be checking it out again in the summer.

My favorite and almost private trail to enjoy cross country skiing

Very nice trail in winter, though we got surrounded by mooses and had to go off trails. Be careful!

Seems like a lot of potential in this trail, but not during inclement weather. Had to turn back because most of the trail is very exposed and the wind was brutal. Will try again another time. $5 parking FYI.

If anyone comes across a key with a small coin purse attached please call 7327628651. Overall the hike is very steep, icy, and not well marked so it would probably be best to try near point from one of the other trailheads.

Such a good and easy hike after work! Brought the dog she loved it!

This trail was beautiful and sunny when I went up in mid September. It was a great place to get a killer view of everything around Anchorage.

Went on this trail with my niece and her energetic dog. 50 y/o male with little hiking in last year and had no problems at all. Very enjoyable pace and trail is easy to follow, nice switchbacks make a comfortable hike. Veiws at the top are magnificent and worth the effort. Wished we had gone on to Peak 3, will do next time. Went over to backside of Flattop instead because we had time and energy.

Best alternative to Black Friday shopping! We went off-trail before we got to the saddle and traversed to the top. Had to stop just before the summit to make sure we all had our spikies on, then up to the top! Make sure you have layers, spikies, and something to stop the wind.

Aweosme hike, just done today November 24/18. Beautiful, not too much snow! But you need micro spikes! Also hopped over to back side of flat top cause it’s right there! 3 hour round trip for the both of them!

Great go to hike if you need a quick/short hike workout.

November 14th, snowy but so fun! Beautiful sunny day out and easy loop!

Did right before the snow fell. The most peaceful hike! Saw 3 moose on the way!

Hiked it today on 11/16/18

Trail is very well marked from the beginning to the top. First 2/3 of the trail are switch backs that are rock/gravel/occasional snow patches.

The last 1/3 of the trail is packed down snow that is fairly slippery. On some parts it’s easier to walk along the edge of the trail because the snow is crusted over enough that you won’t sink and it’s flat.

Beautiful day to be out!!!

This is a great drive. While working with Anchorage Telephone Utility [now Alaska Communications since 1999], I was able to drive down the Seward Hwy from Anchorage to Girdwood and take the tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska where you can see seven glaciers. It was an awesome trip and next time will plan to go down Portage Glacier Road to the glacier, or continue all the way to Seward. The road was in good shape when I went and the sights along the Chugach Mtns and Turnagain Arm are truly big Alaska, the mountains go on forever and rise up right off the road. Amazing is all you can say.
