16 Aug 2018 - Flat and well maintained trail. Perfect trail for walking the pups, great scenery, lots of pollen flying from the fireweed, smooth trail to run, and pretty awesome to watch the planes depart/arrive! Saw a couple people on bikes as well, it’s a pretty wide trail to easily share.

Very nice boardwalk, scenic view. Many birds, including bald eagle. Salmon in small stream. Some moose and bear sightings.

Path goes to a great viewing area. There was a Merlin Hawk that tried to catch a duck right in front of us

Very pretty boardwalk...even saw a moose!

Great spot to see breeding Rusty Blackbirds

Great way to see the glacier. Lots of great spots for photos, views of the glacier and waterfall, and (sadly) lots of evidence of the glacier receding from the rocks on the road. Heavily trafficked to final viewing sandbar.

Great trail for getting up close to Nugget Falls and the Mendenhall Glacier. Easy one mile stroll with a few easy up and downs. Probably doable with a stroller or wheelchair.

Dog and kid friendly. One of the most beautiful platform decks that I’ve ever been too. My 3-year old daughter and I can’t stop returning. Check out the hollow tree along the route as it also makes for a great picture. We did see a black bear along the trail but it didn’t mind our presence.

This trail is definitely easy, and very busy. It’s very popular with cruise shippers and such an easy walk to beautiful falls, it’s not hard to see why so many enjoy it. We went on a very rainy day last week and not many people were there, but the day before we hiked the glacier and could see the falls from the glacier and it was super busy in the nice weather.

I went at 7 am before the tourist buses arrived and only saw a few other people. Breathtaking and peaceful. Easy walk. Hard to call this a hike. It’s a flat, mostly paved trail. You could take strollers or walkers. It’s easy.

Easy hike! Took around an 1hr. Very nice views

Super chill, fun to watch animals, and just relax.

Nice views. Very pleasant easy walk. Took the side trail to see some of the changes the earthquake caused. That trail was easy to get a little lost on.

Beautiful views. Go early to avoid crowds

Very easy trail, if you follow the creek towards the bay, the trail turns pretty muddy. If you follow it upstream, the trail is all paved. There are plenty of benches to sit on, the trail is lighted. It goes all the way to the fish hatchery on Reeve Blvd. There are several areas to overlook the creek and ways down to the creek for fishing. Family friendly, wheel chair friendly.

Love to take my dogs here and enjoy the views

Super easy walk, as it’s just a boardwalk and not an actual trail. Great for those with young children, elderly or those who cannot handle trails / hiking but want the views!
Beautiful views of the mountains!!

This is a very easy 1.3 mile loop around Goose Lake. This trail also takes you past UAA on an easy loop. Dogs welcome on leashes, trail is all asphalt and kept up decently. There was no snow or ice on trail when I went. Park is open 9am-9pm. Free parking. At the parking area you can also take the trail and venture off onto Chester Creek Trail. Near the beach area is a kids park and playground equipment.

Easy hike. Breathtaking scenery!

Easy, Gorgeous after first big snow of the season!

Trail was iced over. Made for a slippery walk. Should have brought my micro spikes

Mosquitoes can be thick in the wooded sections.
