This trail isn’t for me, but my 3-year-old loved it.

Awesome place!

Short, easy trail.

Some very pretty views. $10 to get into the park for 3 of us. The trails are easy to hike, but they are smoothed with sand. So make sure you have shoes that have good grip. The same shoes we have been loving hiking in were slipping and sliding all over the place in the the sand. Made for some sore ankles after.
Pretty. Easy. But not sure it is worth a return visit.

Lots of wildlife seen a lot of deer. Really liked the top

Really nice trail with some good views of the lake. It has a little bit of everything from rocks, run off creeks, hills, lake just an enjoyable trail.

Easy trail, with a nice swinging bridge to check out right before the overlook.

A beautiful trail with minimal interference from wildlife. There are an abundance of butterflies and dragonfly’s which is lovely at first, but can become a nuisance. The trail is safe and conveniently shaded from beautiful trees. There are adequate benches to rest your legs or stretch them. There are bins for recycling as well. My only complaint was there were no trash bins for our cups or snack wrappers. I enjoyed walking the trail with my family and look forward to walking it again in the future.

Too short, too expensive!! Nothing special!!! $12 / person is for my opinion not worth! I think it deserve maybe only Parking fees or $5 / person. I mean there are a lot of FREE amazing and breath taking places. Sad about !

Very fun trail even at only 1.4 miles. The steep climb to the top will let you know what kind of shape you're in and the views are nice, I enjoy it every time I hike it.

Short but enjoyable trail with some awesome views at the end of the trail.

There is a boardwalk that takes you all the way to Bald Rock or you can opt to take a dirt trail running beside the boardwalk. The scenic view from Bald Rock is nice but, as for a hiking trail not much to speak of. Nice place to take a short stroll.

Great day hike with varying terrain and several cool campsites along the way and at the waterfall. Any idea what the name of this falls is?

good

Always enjoy my hikes here. The flowers along the trail in the Spring are beautiful - my favorite time of year to hike this trail. Summer hikes are doable. Hot but manageable with water and frequent rest stops. There are shortened trails so if it’s too hot you can opt for these trails. Late Fall and Winter hikes are enjoyable with the cooler weather and less humidity.

Not gonna lie, this trail is tough. Deserves the hard rating. The description says the trail is 6.6 miles, but my tracker says it was 8.8 miles. It’s not a loop trail, you go up the same way you come down. The initial descent is easy, but it was completely uphill on the way back. I felt like it would never end and we would never get there. Make sure you bring more than enough water. I brought a filled 17 oz bottle and four regular sized water bottles, and that wasn’t enough. I would bring 6-8 bottles. The elevation gain is intense on the way back up. You should probably be in fairly good shape to hike this trail. I would go in the fall because it was really hot during the summer. Also, wear bug spray. Bugs are flying around you just about every second you’re hiking. And while going down the trail you walk into spiderwebs pretty much the whole time. Some of it is overgrown, so I’d be sure to check yourself and others for ticks when you get done. The views were decent, but not the best. It was just an okay hike, not really worth it in my opinion.

Love love love this little state park! Great hiking, really great trails!

Beautiful property. Terrible customer service. The weirdest hours I’ve ever seen for a park. I’m rating it a 5 because the property is gorgeous & I enjoyed it very much!

Quick hike to get the kids out and into the woods. Followed it up with the Treetop loop so my 2 yr old could see the rehabbing owls, vultures and hawks. She loved it!

Great trail! Section along the river is far better than the rim overlooking it. If you like waterfalls, rivers, cool rock formations, you will love this one. If not, why are you hiking?

Nice short trail

Super Easy to get to. Black waters were safe, questionable but safe.

It is dirty there. People don’t take care of the place so you’ll see trash around. I walked on the trail and saw a ton of alcohol cans and boxes and McDonalds in the trees.

Good distance and can lead to more trails for further hiking. Can make a good day if it.

Some easy and flat trails, and some that are more of a “hike”. Good variety for running, walking or hiking. Very shady too!

Super easy trail for those would like a couple of hours with nature.

great trail. return trip kicks your ass. take your time it's all up hill

Great ADA compliant and family friendly trail that is a mix of gravel and hardwood. Travels through a maritime forest then to a more coastal area alongside Little Lagoon. The trail is actually a little shorter than a mile.

Hiked a large part of this trail in mid-July after a rainstorm. The heat and humidity had subsided so it wasn't bad. The trails are very well maintained, options of paved asphalt, raised wooden trails, or primitive dirt trails. Little elevation change, restrooms, and water all along the way. There are some beautiful scenic spots and amazing ecosystems along the way. The reason this gets a 5 star over a four is the wildlife. Saw several snakes, frogs, turtles, and birds. Even saw a bobcat on the wooden trail. Did not see alligators or armadillos but according to campers there are plenty around the area so be cautious and aware at all times. Definite must for any outdoorsy person in the Gulf Shores area.

Great trail. Tough at some parts, but that’s the point! Lots of fun and plenty of resting parts/shelters.
