This is a wonderful trail and it is a National Recreation Trail

Mostly flat easy paved/sidewalk route. I did 2 miles today. Lots of students use this walkway due to convenience to campus.

I have lived near this area my whole life and never knew this fantastic trail existed

I had a wonder walk around the lake and will definitely stop back by next time I'm in the area and want to stretch my legs

This is Phenix City Alabama's best park and a great trail for the whole family

I love this place, great for a bike ride or a good paddle boarding trip down the river. There are two paved trails one that can take you to several restaurants in the area. My husband and I bike ride to Carson’s grill on Sundays when the weather is good. We have talked about paddle boarding on the river from one landing off of old 31 road into Hays nature preserve landing. We have not tried it yet, it’s to cold.

Nice view of the lake. Small crushed gravel surface that is easy on the feet. Restroom facilities. Dog friendly.

It’s fine.!

Great for hiking and biking. Beautiful trails and scenery!

Great trail to bike and walk on. Fully paved and has benches along the way to sit and watch the river.

This trail isn’t for me, but my 3-year-old loved it.

Hiked a large part of this trail in mid-July after a rainstorm. The heat and humidity had subsided so it wasn't bad. The trails are very well maintained, options of paved asphalt, raised wooden trails, or primitive dirt trails. Little elevation change, restrooms, and water all along the way. There are some beautiful scenic spots and amazing ecosystems along the way. The reason this gets a 5 star over a four is the wildlife. Saw several snakes, frogs, turtles, and birds. Even saw a bobcat on the wooden trail. Did not see alligators or armadillos but according to campers there are plenty around the area so be cautious and aware at all times. Definite must for any outdoorsy person in the Gulf Shores area.

It’s a very short walk and hilly. So if you’ve got kids or older people that want that distance they aren’t gonna like the hills. So for a fit individual that wants a very short walk it’s ideal. Nice small lake, geese. A pretty bridge. Good for photography. Especially for dog walkers since it’s so hot most dogs can’t handle long distances around here. There is a dog park. Also there is a pretty good playground for kids and basic splash pad.

Great place for casual ride.

Great multi-use trail, including playing Pokemon Go. It is a nice view of the river. Paved in various ways, so great for running and walking. It is still in the city, so not much wildlife other than squirrels and such.

Did Alligator Marsh Trail to Bear Creek Trail. Short unpaved out and back Trail.

Excellent trail system for walking, running or biking. Now that the boardwalks are complete you can easily walk or bike to the beach or fishing pier. Lots of wildlife viewing opportunities.

Great asphalt ride

Very easy trails. 4.7 miles in the heat. All paved or boardwalk

The "trail" was mostly concrete, full sun and miserable. There were hardly any places to get to the river, the places that were available was grown up and "snakey".
It's a beautiful place for a picnic, to take the kids, grill out, bike, roller skate or skateboard; a horrible place for a "hike".
I don't normally attract mosquitoes but had to put on my mosquitoe repellent, they were BAD!
I have hiked quite a few hike off AllTrails and this one, by far, was the worst! It's worth checking out for family fun but definitely not a place for hiking.
AND PLEASE..... IF YOU HAVE DOGS, TAKE POOP BAGS AND PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG.

Good little workout on a nice trail, but it needs some general maintenance to prevent being overgrown.

Family/dog friendly park. Paved trails with some shade, playground for children, dog park area for your walking partner. You decide your route and amount of distance. Scenery was nice including ponds and a walking bridge.

Fun easy for all ages

Easy shaded trail along the riverbank.

I have done this trail four times, I am VERY out of shape so this is the first time I've made it without having to stop and rest. Nice trail, well kept, paved, relatively level.
