Some very pretty views. $10 to get into the park for 3 of us. The trails are easy to hike, but they are smoothed with sand. So make sure you have shoes that have good grip. The same shoes we have been loving hiking in were slipping and sliding all over the place in the the sand. Made for some sore ankles after.
Pretty. Easy. But not sure it is worth a return visit.

Nice, lush, fairly flat 5k loop. The deer in the area are not afraid of humans! I was able to get so close to one, I was certain it was a large lawn ornament!

This trail is well maintained and well marked. There are a couple good overlooks and a lot of wildlife to see. I hiked this with a friend and we even spotted a young male deer.

Super fun hike with lots of shifts in topography. My nine year old and I started at the church and ended at the parking lot on Cecil Ashburn. The trip was roughly 2.5 miles and took us a little over an hour. My wife dropped us off and picked us up.

Make sure you have excellent lugs on your shoes especially in wet conditions. In fact, I would deem this trail very hazardous when wet. You have to do some rock hopping (slippery when wet) and the ground gets muddy very quickly from rain.

The trail bends around the east side of the mountain and is well covered with trees. So, it's nice to do even in the heat of the summer evenings. We started at 4 PM. We saw lots of wildlife including a deer. My son had a bunch of tinny ticks on him by the end. I must not have used enough spray on him.

Well marked trail with great overlooks of the city. Went to this trail on 4th of July to watch fireworks all over Huntsville. Amazing experience.

IF YOU SEE RED MARKERS you are not on Waterline. Easy to get turned around. Go back and find the trail again. The map on this app is invaluable. Other than that, fantastic hike. I’ve gone down Alms to Three Caves and back a good number of times but never did this loop. It’s much better. But beware that starting down Waterline is VERY steep.

hey guys this is not kid friendly I am not very happy this took a very long time it is not fun if you are strong enough to then go for it I am just giving you all a warning it is very hard I can almost not catch my breath

Nice walk in the woods well marked - there is lots of poison oak so I didn’t get to go on some of the deviated trails due to my allergies

Good easy hike with the kids!

Pack water and a snack. Check your AllTrails to make sure you stay on trial as it can get confusing. Some of the trail is blocked by trees, go over them. If a challenge is what you seek, as a beginner it is what you will find. Leave the little kids at home and use bugs spray as there were ticks.

Decided to take a break on our road trip and stopped here. Got to the gate to learn there was a small fee (cash only) to get into the park. No big deal, but we didn’t have cash on us so we drove down and took the road entrance. Easy trail. Really well marked. Lots of stuff to see along the way with great views. Nothing overwhelmingly spectacular but definitely beautiful. Overall solid trail and fun experience!
Definitely would be great and easy with kids as well!

A great place for family, kids or a nice walk. I don't recommend for hiking, as it's mostly just a stroll through the woods.
Very beautiful place. They have bathrooms, a pavilion with snack machines, grills and different events from time to time.
Again, I don't recommend for hiking but it's worth visiting!
AND PLEASE..... IF YOU HAVE DOGS, TAKE POOP BAGS AND PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG.

Still not ready for prime time. Some great rock formations at the bottom, but I would omit the down-and-back again section until it has been traveled more often. Very easy to get lost in parts due to the newness of the trail.

Gorgeous trails on the loop. Have many options to make it as easy or hard as you like. Definitely one of my favorites.

This is a great hike but should be rated moderate to hard. The tollgate trail is extremely rocky. Waterline Trail is extremely steep and the trail was easily lost. I did this hike yesterday with my dog and I was afraid of falling at Waterline. We made it and it was extremely pretty but I will go another way to avoid Waterline next time.

Well marked, beautiful trail. A must for Huntsvile hiking.

Very well marked. We took 4 kids, ages 4-8, and I wore a baby on my back. They navigated a lot of the trail for us by looking for the blue marks on trees. The middle of the trail is on the side of the mountain, so make sure the kids watch and have them stay to the side of the trails great walking!

Overall a good trail with a great climb at the beginning, but toward the end there's a long section that's filled with small rocks that are easy to stumble / twist an ankle on, especially this time of year when they're hidden in the leaves.

This is my favorite set of Land Trust trails. Alms House is a pleasant walk through quiet woods down to Three Caves, then Waterline wakes you up (and up and up and up) with its climb to Bluffline. There were no ropes when I went last week, and ice on the rocks made for a tricky scramble. Bluffline lets you get your breath back as you head to the parking lot.

Sunset is amazing here. Sunrise is also impressive.
