Great for families! My almost 2yr old ran the boardwalk down and the trail back up with no issue.

I would classify this as easy to moderate. It’s short but there is some pretty rough terrain and steep inclines. We hike with our 1yr old (in a backpack), 4yr old & 6yr old and they loved it. Beautiful view and a great place to hike in for a picnic.

Nice maintained board walk, (not a hike) Easy access for anyone. Amazing view. Great pictures!l

Easy hike. Lots of great photos here. The view is amazing

Love coming here with my family! The view is like no other especially in the fall. The boardwalk is handicap accessible so my stepdad was able to use his walker. The restaurant is amazing as well; the views are spectacular.

The trail was good it was clear. We was not sure how we were going to Morgan lake and the waterfalls. We crossed back over the highway and took the trail that way it was a good day didn't meet anybody but one person.

Gorgeous!!! Flowers blooming, babbling brook, clear skies at the overlook on a blue horizon. If you only do one thing at Cheaha, it should be this hike.

Well maintained boardwalk. Lots of benches. Good for dogs.

Easy hike with a great view from the mountain top. Great place to take photos.

It’s a boardwalk with a nice view. It’s worth it for the view, but not really a “hike.”

Great hike! Wide trail. The waterfall was cool. We continued after the waterfall up the hill... Awesome hill! Got to the fork at the top and sat down on the ground and had a picnic right in the intersection.

Great quiet trail, but I think there is a possibility I lost my wallet on it last Sunday 4/5. If you find it, please email laurenreef@gmail.com.

Description indicates 7.2 miles but the displayed recording is only 5 miles round trip as stated by another reviewer. It is the Pinhoti so you’re certainly not going to dead end anytime soon. I did 4 miles out for an 8 mile round-trip. At this distance I would consider the trail moderate, as you are trekking some semi-serious inclines on the way back out. I came upon an occupied campsite, a small group of backpackers on the trail and a person fishing at the lake on my return. I hike alone so it’s always nice to see other signs of life when I’m in the wilderness! The waterfall in the pics is at the very beginning so the remainder of the hike could be considered somewhat anti-climatic, unless like myself, your favorite place to be is in the woods. Ultimately, a peaceful, vigorous at times, very enjoyable walk in the woods.

we were a little ambitious on our first trip. we went counter clockwise and made it all the way to the stream where we set up our hammocks. We were beat! There were a couple of pretty challenging places but it was beautiful and a fun hike. The trail was clean but there were some downed trees. The parking lot was full and the trail was full of people. Everyone was nice and enjoying being outside on a beautiful day.

3/25/20 lot of water on the trail. Very nice!

Great trail! We went to the falls (white trail then yellow at the turn after you cross the creek). Not a bad hike for me and the kiddos. Even saw some wildlife-a turtle and snake.

Great hike in and out. If your looking for a simpler hike, take a left after you cross the bridge. It will take you to the damn. If you take a right, be prepared for the uphill climb, once you get up top rest of the trail is not so bad. Again the uphill portion is pretty intense. Once you get to the lake, the pavilions offer a great spot to relax, before heading back.

interesting trail. does not lead to the actual high point of Alabama. you have to drive to the observation tower for that
