Nice views
Great paths
Marked well
Would do it again

Flat gravel. Need early am or pm due to the heat. Graffitied landmarks and trashed lake from kids apparently. Nice bridge. Could take some nice photos.

Amazing trail. I brought my 6 and 2 year old children .

Beautiful waterfall nice hike

The trail is nice and the waterfall is beautiful. The only reason I gave this trail three stars is because of its “caves.” My husband and I love exploring caves and were super excited to learn that there were some in the area. Unless we totally missed something, the only caves along the upper portion of this trail are rock overhangs. They are not really caves with passages. If you want an intense hike leading to a beautiful waterfall, go for it! If you’re visiting just for the “caves,” you might disappointed.

Loved this trail. I stayed on the black creek trail and the trees and flowers were blooming. Very pretty and relaxing.

Good trail I carried my entire family from 6-15 year old kids involved with mother and father in-law. Lot of people walking, running and biking.
The only issue was he bikers ridding at a very fast pace and you had to be very aware of them while hiking.

There's far more than 4 miles worth of trails. Come check it out be prepared to run uphill.

I visited here this past weekend and hiked this trial with a three and four year old. We all loved it and stopped for a splash in the river. We made it just fine and are beginning hiking. don't forget your water and swim trunks, there is plenty of place to swim.

A great visit to the falls, especially after a long week of rain. The waterfall was pretty cool.

My dog and I had a good time. It's been raining so the current was really strong. We had to go to the end of the trail to find a safe place for him to swim.

This is a great trail option for something close to the city. The trail itself is more like a gravel drive and is very developed. The entry point I came in on the trail was actually at about the 1.7 mile marker so I didn't really make a loop. And it looks like the loop goes through part of the town. Where the water fall is you can see main streets and restaurants so you're not hiking "back into the woods". There is a nice park area for families and picnics and also rv parking etc. if you stay on the trail it's more of a walk. And is definitely an easy walk and not really hiking. It was disappointing at first. I consider Amicalola Falls, GA to be moderate. This is easy to me - just for a reference point. Now- if you want to do some hiking and climb up and down rocks and pathways and actually see the river and the waterfall at the bottom you have to go "off trail" to get to another trail. We went down a trail that has a wooden post by it (shown in the pics) and it takes you down the left canyon edge (as you're facing the waterfall) to get to the waterfall. This is what made the trip worthwhile to us. It has a good "basin" at the bottom of the waterfall where you can hike back behind the falls and enjoy the mist and breeze. If you go to hike - go off trail. If you go to walk stay on the path. Also check out their app for their trail system. We didn't have it - but When we went they were taking down markers for what they call the barbarian challenge - which is an alternative route with obstacles and a race they have. We used part of this challenge course to get off the main path and enjoy more underdeveloped scenery and it overlaps with some of the main trail- it might help make the trip more adventurous for those who like to do more hiking.

We needed a place to stretch our legs in the middle of a long drive. It was worth it just to see the 90' waterfall. Most of the walk that we did was paved or shelled.

Took our teenagers and had a great day. Went down to the falls and had a great time.

one of the best hiking, bicycling trails around. if you hike the falls it is one of the best hikes I ever been on.

Little strenuous on the hike to the bottom but worth it when you get to the back side of the falls

Great short trail with a slight incline.

Beautiful trail that runs along Black Creek. The water was up a bit today, so it was rapid in several places. We walked the more difficult trail right along the waters edge for the first mile and loved it. Will definitely be back to try some of the peripheral trails that branch off this one.

Amazing local trail

More of a park than a trail.

For a cat, it wasn't hard at all.

The drought has dried up this place severely, still a nice area. Hopefully we can get some rain and get it flowing again.

short hike, beautiful views, partially paved.

It was a beautiful climb down and under the falls definitely made the trip worth it. There wasn't much water on our trip and there was trash everywhere. Would definitely do it again.

trail is in great shape in wooded area, not a fan of the last mile so I turned around and backtracked 2.0 miles

Great hike!

Not for hiking down with a camera loose, place in your camera bag or backpack.

Great trail that follows the river. Lots of gravel on this trail, would not recommend vibram five fingers barefoot running shoes. Rocks are big enough to roll an ankle on - wear actual sneakers or hiking boots. For more trail running/smoother dirt packed stay on the inner trails within the trees.

Easily accessible from Hwy 411 behind the Gadsden Mall. Look for the signs. Easy walk and great views of water and nature. Most of trail is hard packed dirt/stone. You can take the boardwalk out into the lake to get to a natural area where the path is not as easy and has natural impediments.
