05/01/2019 Great little park with a nice walking trail. A good portion of the boardwalk is currently closed so I was unable to complete the entire loop.

A beautiful and well defined trail. More of a true hiking trail. It follows the water. Some of the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen. I think it is categorized as moderate. I am 60yrs old and had no issue at all. Loved every minute of it!

Such a beautiful place. This trail is mostly a gravel trail. I would call it a walking trail. A number of landmarks with wonderful scenery. The whole place is just awesome! This trail I would say is for all ages.

This hike here was worth the whole trip. Never seen anything more beautiful! It is for sure a moderate trail. There are ups and downs. Rocks to climb over. However, it will be worth every step to get there. Do yourself a favor and go see this place! The trail well defined. There are several ways to get in the gorge. One is more intense than the other. The main trail is not bad at all.

Took our 9 year old for a ride down here today, and we were both so excited! We hit the entrance on our bikes and took a right to get to the boardwalk to go to the island, and the boardwalk is closed, completely gated off after the first left

Beautiful trail. Definitely hike to behind the falls and then all the way to the suspension bridge, cross the bridge and hike to the top of the falls. Terrific day on the trail and at the park.

Nice trail. More easy than moderate if you stay on the recorded path, which I did not. Mostly well marked with some interesting side trails with neat views, such as the Suspension Bridge. Once you’re off the gravel beginning there are some boggy areas if you go after a rain but these areas were easily maneuvered. I will go again and do some of the other trails in the system.

This was a fun walk with the dogs. I would consider it more on the easy side. The main walk/trail is gravel path that is very well maintained. There are several side paths that are easy to follow and we'll maintained. There is one path with slightly more difficulty (but still easy enough for kids) that takes you up and under the falls. Throughout the main path there are beautiful views. It was perfect for us to get out and spend time together after a week of rain.

Hubs and I hiked 8 of the 15 trails in the system and had a blast. All are clear, decently marked, and thoroughly enjoyable. We will definitely be back to do the 5 we missed. Don't let the moderate rating intimidate you. They were easier than most other "moderate" trails we've hiked.

There are caves in the area, but they are not easy to find. Gotta know the history. A very large recess behind the waterfall. Most days of the year the falls are breathtaking. The trail is a bit rugged and slick here and there, but all together pleasant. As usual around water sources, watch for snakes. Caught a few cute little yellow ring necks near the falls. Seen a few guys ride their kayaks off the top of the falls once. VERY ILLEGAL!! Nobody was hurt. At least a good 100ft drop. It was awesome!!

Very easy and a great place to kill time. Not much to see and if there has been any rain recently then a good portion of the island will be flooded for awhile. Plenty of mud off the boardwalk. We had to park behind the Gadsden mall and walk a little ways to the boardwalk.

Nice well maintained and well marked hiking and biking trail along the black creek.

We had a great time. Should’ve brought our trekking poles though.

Nice views Great paths Marked well Would do it again

Flat gravel. Need early am or pm due to the heat. Graffitied landmarks and trashed lake from kids apparently. Nice bridge. Could take some nice photos.

Amazing trail. I brought my 6 and 2 year old children .

Beautiful waterfall nice hike

The trail is nice and the waterfall is beautiful. The only reason I gave this trail three stars is because of its “caves.” My husband and I love exploring caves and were super excited to learn that there were some in the area. Unless we totally missed something, the only caves along the upper portion of this trail are rock overhangs. They are not really caves with passages. If you want an intense hike leading to a beautiful waterfall, go for it! If you’re visiting just for the “caves,” you might disappointed.

Loved this trail. I stayed on the black creek trail and the trees and flowers were blooming. Very pretty and relaxing.

Good trail I carried my entire family from 6-15 year old kids involved with mother and father in-law. Lot of people walking, running and biking. The only issue was he bikers ridding at a very fast pace and you had to be very aware of them while hiking.

There's far more than 4 miles worth of trails. Come check it out be prepared to run uphill.

I visited here this past weekend and hiked this trial with a three and four year old. We all loved it and stopped for a splash in the river. We made it just fine and are beginning hiking. don't forget your water and swim trunks, there is plenty of place to swim.

A great visit to the falls, especially after a long week of rain. The waterfall was pretty cool.

My dog and I had a good time. It's been raining so the current was really strong. We had to go to the end of the trail to find a safe place for him to swim.

This is a great trail option for something close to the city. The trail itself is more like a gravel drive and is very developed. The entry point I came in on the trail was actually at about the 1.7 mile marker so I didn't really make a loop. And it looks like the loop goes through part of the town. Where the water fall is you can see main streets and restaurants so you're not hiking "back into the woods". There is a nice park area for families and picnics and also rv parking etc. if you stay on the trail it's more of a walk. And is definitely an easy walk and not really hiking. It was disappointing at first. I consider Amicalola Falls, GA to be moderate. This is easy to me - just for a reference point. Now- if you want to do some hiking and climb up and down rocks and pathways and actually see the river and the waterfall at the bottom you have to go "off trail" to get to another trail. We went down a trail that has a wooden post by it (shown in the pics) and it takes you down the left canyon edge (as you're facing the waterfall) to get to the waterfall. This is what made the trip worthwhile to us. It has a good "basin" at the bottom of the waterfall where you can hike back behind the falls and enjoy the mist and breeze. If you go to hike - go off trail. If you go to walk stay on the path. Also check out their app for their trail system. We didn't have it - but When we went they were taking down markers for what they call the barbarian challenge - which is an alternative route with obstacles and a race they have. We used part of this challenge course to get off the main path and enjoy more underdeveloped scenery and it overlaps with some of the main trail- it might help make the trip more adventurous for those who like to do more hiking.

We needed a place to stretch our legs in the middle of a long drive. It was worth it just to see the 90' waterfall. Most of the walk that we did was paved or shelled.
