Really cool trail and area in general. Fun terrain- big rocks, little rocks, roots, sticks, dirt, gravel. My biggest complaint is the one that has the ongoing theme in the reviews... it’s an extremely difficult trail to follow. Had I not had my handy trail map with the blue dot telling me where I was, there is no telling where I would have ended up. Just a lot of through trails and forks. Better markings would be really nice! Otherwise- solid trail. I went on a Friday afternoon in June, so super hot which = not crowded at all! I’ll take it.

Easy ride. Beautiful woodlands on both sides of trail.

Went here In April 2019 to see the birds. Great park. Lovely area. Lots of water fowl.

Overall a great trail. Trail markers are a bit faded and the loop around the quary seemed a little unused making me think that it may be a closed trail, however there was no fallen tree on the trail, so I assumed it was still open. Take caution when doing the quary loop. Extremely narrow and smooth rocks paired with a 50ft drop may be risky on a wet day.

Nice up and down hills in mostly tree shaded hike. Enjoyed the trail.

Great paved trail for running/walking

05/07/2019 A wonderfully vigorous hike! Some areas of the trail were slightly overgrown but still penetrable. I imagine this will become more of an issue as the spring/summer progresses. The trail is mostly well marked and easy to follow.

Trail is well maintained and beautiful. However the trail markings are difficult to follow at times. Will definitely come back!

Did some trail jumping to extend my hike and this place is beautiful! Solid elevation changes and some really cool rock formations along the way. There’s also an impressive line of running waterfalls that intersects most of the trails. Definitely recommend this one!

Favorite trail in Birmingham. Worth it every time.

UPDATE: The correct map now displayed. I live in the area and have walked in Jemison Park numerous times. THIS IS NOT A HIKE! It is mostly a sidewalk path with spontaneous bouts of nature in a rural area. The mapped recording provided here is not even in the park for most of the walk, it leads to a residential neighborhood where the sidewalks end and you’re walking on the street for much of the time. The actual Jemison Park Trail is an approximate 3.5 mile out and back trail and is a nice neighborhood park to get some daily exercise. The map provided here starts at 1/2 mile into the park trail and doesn’t include that first 1/2 mile at all. Update: After suggesting an edit thru the app, the correct map is now displayed.

This is a great trail for day hike. Views are awesome and the trail is in great shape. The ridge and valley trail is rough. Lot of up and down. Trail has a lot of rocks and roots in it. That was only tough section for me. Highly recommend this one

This trail was great! Paved or gravel the whole way, so it was pretty easy. Excellent views of downtown. The app glitches on me, so I lost about a mile's worth of data.

Long trail mainly in the woods! The quarry view is really cool though. There are a lot of old mines around and some pretty wildflowers if you take the time to look! We hike here often, just follow the signs!

The best urban nature preserve in the world!!

Parking was crowed but there are so many trails that it was not crowded once we started hiking. Interesting area, trails were easy and well marked. Lots of trails crisscrossing did get a little confusing. Trails are numbered so paper map would help. Good area for exercise if you live nearby

This is a good trail for a calm afternoon, not a challenge. This park is great on the week days but gets way too crowded for my taste on the weekends. I would rate this trail for a Friday afternoon light traffic, which is great for a reactive dog (like I have) to get some exercise.

Some area looked like a little fairy land with the big boulders and all the moss. The white trail was not marked very well in some areas. We got off the trail somehow and ended up on the power line trail. Ended up doing a 6 mile hike instead of a 3 mile. Enjoyed the area though.

Hiked this trail last weekend and enjoyed every minute of it! We planned on only doing the 4 mile hike on the other side of the park and ended up at Grace’s Gap Overlook making it a total of 10 miles! We will definitely be back!

Great trails and a great park , very well maintained. Smythe trail was the hardest going up hill but it was not as challenging as I expected. Highly recommend to explore all the trails in the park.

Very easy trail to check out some of the mines at the park. Went a week ago and there were a few muddy spots but otherwise it was a nice trail

Great park with awesome trails. All the trails are well maintained and tons of old mining buildings and mines to check out

Combo of Blue to White from the waterfall!

Great trail even for a cold, windy 35 degree weather day mid January. Went to Cambrian Overlook and the other Overlook past that. Brought hot coffee and a PB&J and sat at the top overlook to have a snack. Wonderful time!

I would call this a track not really a trail. It made for a decent Sunday walk, but not much to look at.

Parked at Simmons school Trailhead. Followed oranges blazes to High Falls and then to where the trail came out on Chapel Rd Was marked well. Beautiful!

Beautiful views, but very hard to stay on the loop as trail marks are confusing. Got off on side trail few times. Thanks to blue gps dot on the AllTrails app that I could find my way back. Otherwise five star trail. Will do it again.
