Sandy beach along the way then a smooth pebble beach. Listen to the water as it goes out. Beautiful views along the way and at the top. Wind coming up the V’s in the mount will take your breath

Wife and I enjoyed a short jaunt with our 3 and 4 year old. Pretty rocky in parts but nothing a preschooler can’t handle. Nice vista of the bay.

This was a good trail but the majority of the incline in the beginning has loose rocks which are difficult with my ankles. Other than that it was enjoyable. There are many different arms you can choose while on the trial. We did the petroglyph arm and the arm on the reef bay trail to the factory. STJ never fails to produce beautiful views.

This is a nice short walk. Definitely do the America Hill arm as the views are fantastic.

We started at the Annaberg Ruins on the Leinster Bay Trail, a nice walk along the water. The Johnny Horn is my favorite hike so far on STJ because of the views...amazing! The dirt road on the other side of the trial is pretty steep and somewhat slippery because of the loose rocks and gravel. I didn’t see the trail marked on what is supposed to be the beginning in Coral Bay so I can see why others have had trouble finding it. If you want to start on the CoralBay side then turn left at the road next to the big church that’s on the way to Skinny Legs. Just start walking and you’re on the trail.

Super easy little trail. It started raining in the middle so it was slippery because of the rocks.

You definitely wanna do this trail earlier in the day, as once you get up on the mountain there is no wind! Also bring extra water. The views from the great house are totally worth it!

Great trail - there are 2 entrances from the top - one you can park at that is a longer hike and another most cabs will drop you off at - peaceful either way and easy - and the reward is a swim in the ocean that is typically always calm with plentiful gorgeous white sand!

good amount of distance and elevation changes. we hiked from 11am - 1pm on a sunny day with some clouds on the way back to the beach. A rocky climb. Great picture at the top.

Gorgeous views from parts of the trail! Also, it wasn’t a huge deal for us but the second half or so of the trail was a bit overgrown. Note that as of 1/3/19 the Caneel Hill Resort was still closed and no access was allowed, so if you’re looking to hike and then hit that beach area just adjust your post-hike plans accordingly. Luckily the hike (if you’re doing just one way and not RT) ends at a road where taxis are passing by (we got one in less than 5 min) and can take you to nearby Trunk Bay (approx 5-8 min taxi ride from the trail), Cinnamon Bay or wherever else you need to go. Bonus: super easy to get to after getting off the ferry in Cruz Bay. Approx 5 min walk from ferry dock to the start of the trail.

easy. mainly rocky but you do get some flat spots.

Fastest way to Leister Bay if walking from Coral Bay. Traveling South from Coral Bay we accessed the trail via a fairly steep dirt and rock road. The road was a bit steep on the return trip with loose rock. So definitely need grippy shoes. Once over the peak of the hill heading North the trail narrows to single track with a bit of briars and some steep slick parts. There are a few parts of the trail that have views of Leister Bay, Tortola BVI, and few Cays. The ruins are great photo ops.

A good hike that takes you out to a very scenic overlook/outcropping. Like most people say, the trail very exposed and can be hot. The ocean breeze can pick up at the top of the point.

Nice easy trail around a salt pond. There are some ruins that are cool and a boardwalk on the ocean side of the pond.

A nice intro hike to the National Park if you do the loop clockwise out of Cruz Bay. Nice views and a former windmill. The elevation is higher than 26 feet; maybe 100 feet.

Easy hike that provides access to a few beaches and there's a nice overlook of Cruz Bay. Very rocky at points and can be slippery when wet.
