Really enjoyed this walk. The app allowed me to go completely off piste and still get back to the car with no stress. Perfect

Leaping lizards!! There is so much volcanic limestone so please wear sturdy shoes. There were no great open spaces but the rock formations are really interesting. There is plenty of shade which was very nice.

We also saw lots of snakes, birds, a hermit crab and a very large tree frog!

Very nice, easy walk. Part along the river is very "soothing".

This is the only hiking trail found in the Cayman Islands. Easily accessible with a well defined trail. During rainy season some areas can get a bit muddy but its nothing too difficult. Lots of flora but very little fauna. Be on the lookout for the very shy Agouti and listen out for parrots.

If you want to cut the trip in half, take two cars and park one at either trail head. After the hike (if you end at the northern trail head) take a ride to Rum Point for a dip in the Caribbean Sea and have one (or two) of Rum Point's famous mudslide. Also nearby is the Queen's Botanical Park. This is definitely worth the visit as its home to quite a few blue iguanas.

Keep bug spray on hand and take 2-3 liters of water. Trainers/Sneakers are fine for the hike. Cotton is not advisable (the humidity is pretty high).

Happy trails!

Very enjoyable walk. Mostly easygoing terrain but with a few steep spots that required scrambling. Not ideal for very young children, but any active child over 6 should be fine. The Alltrails route passes through a carpark where a food van sells tea, coffee, ice cream, snacks etc. (This was open and trading even on Easter Sunday). The route is a nice mix of track, road and field. I was walking in the rain which made parts very muddy and restricted the views in the higher elevations, but even so I would recommend. Hiking solo at a moderate pace with a light pack took about 3 hours. Next time I'll take the diversion to look at Thor's Cave.

It was a beautiful and easy walking, with the sound of the river always making company. Highly recommended!
