A super easy walk to the castle from the road on a rock path. There will be farm animals but they just hope you’ll share food and pose no real danger. Exploring around the castle can be a bit muddy but on the path you’re good to go.

Gorgeous views, a must if you’re a fan of Harry Potter. The parking can be a bit tricky in this area, even in shoulder season.

Great trail with a good quick elevation climb. The weather can change quickly and conditions can be challenging when this happens. Be prepared for sleet, snow, fog, or if you’re lucky, a fantastic view. Definitely worth your time.

Excellent path. Some steeper sections on the way up, easy walking coming back down. completely clouded over as we approached the top so can't say much on views but still very dramatic and enjoyable!

Walked today in a clockwise direction. Much easier that way. Beautiful views and a good path.

Brilliant walk shame it was extremely windy at the top

I would consider this a more medium hike that a hard one. That being said it’s huge value for the amount of work. The views are wonderful and the path is well marked. There is a little technical foot placement on some of the down hill sections. It did rain on me (then hailed) most of the time but that’s Scotland.

Just completed this on Saturday. Loved it .. well worth a go ..

A beautiful walk for people of all abilities. This path is also suitable for cycling and trail running. I have walked this many times on my own, with friends and with my children. Cornalees Visitor Centre and the coffee shop are a good place to stop for a break. There are alternative paths back to Greenock, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay to allow you to personalise the route.

A great climb with beautiful views on the way up. Lots of sheep to keep you company if hiking alone. The weather is very changeable as you climb higher. I climbed Ben Lomond on a beautiful May day however the visibility reduced quite considerably on the way up and all I could see was the fog around me. The mountain path climb was quite difficult but the jog back down was awesome.

Lovely little loop offering great views of the town and isles across the water

Hardest hike I've ever done but completely worth it for the incredible views. Took us probably about five hours and we were exhausted by the end. But I cannot stress how incredible the views were

Amazing views. Easy terrain. Loved it!

I do this walk on a regular basis with my dogs..beautiful no matter what the weather is like

Done this as part of the west highland way. This was by far my favourite part of the whole walk. It’s hard at times but also a lot of fun.

Nice view at the top.

gentle start for the first couple of miles on tarmac and forrestry roads before heading on to the hill itself. A little boggy to start but soon dries out. pretty steep the whole way with several heart breaking false summits to contend with. A couple of tricky rock formations escalate this in my view to a harder than average Munro. A bit blow at the top but the views make it all worthwhile.
ample parking at the bottom along with a wee cafe and a nice pier on the loch.

Very nice wieves.

Nice view but not an easy hiking. Weather changing so fast so better be ready.

This is a relatively easy and pleasant walk that includes open views and short wooded areas. The pathway is predominately tarmac although you can choose to walk on short grass at many parts. It is used for walking, running and cycling. Most users are spatially aware and considerate but it can be busy on dry weekends.
You can choose a variety of alternative paths, mostly woodland, that increases the rise and fall and difficulty level.

did our own path, so many trails and places to explore. very beautiful. need to go early before 9 am, crowds start gathering after 10.

very crowded. can get muddy but worth the views. be careful of rock slides. we heard rocks falling from the big rock face cliff, of course people shouting wasn't helping.

did the entire loop. beautiful views
