Great for running! Steeply up and then looong way down the hill. Sweet and short.

Great views! My mom and I walked this trail in June and the weather was great for it. Definitely recommend it. It’s within walking distance from the Cairngorm hotel too (which I also recommend).

A nice friendly area to run or walk along. You always meet someone, everybody out enjoying their own business. A mix trail and pathways with a couple of small wooden bridges watch out they can be slippy.

The loop I took was 7 miles, not 4.4. Lovely trail. Beautiful views. Well kept and frequently traveled near the car parks, but less populated and equally well kept further out. Highly recommend.

Great walk with the dogs..came in from the Drymen side..long walk in but great views along the way

Absolutely perfect. A lot of people at the top. A little challenging for the beginner in some spots.

Easy flat short walk, very nice.

Great views, even if it was a little rainy.

A well trafficked trail with some elevation but still not terribly difficult on a nice day. Even on the calmest day it’s very windy at the top.

A super easy walk to the castle from the road on a rock path. There will be farm animals but they just hope you’ll share food and pose no real danger. Exploring around the castle can be a bit muddy but on the path you’re good to go.

Excellent short hike! A Grand view on a nice day. Lots of well behaved dogs. A must do when in Edinburgh.

This was an awesome respite from the Royal Mile, though sometimes as crowded.

Awesome!!!! Can’t beat the views. Good climb.

Beautiful walk down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile! Amazing architecture all the way!

easy to do in less than 2 hours even with stopping for a short rest along the way.

Amazing hike! I'm not an experienced, nor frequent, hiker so this was quite intense. If you do take this on I would recommend a good pair of hiking shoes and a rain jacket! The wind is also pretty crazy at the top, but the views of the city are completely worth it.

Gorgeous short hike for a taste of Glencoe.

A great wee climb for first time hill walkers and children. I did this with my two kids, 10 and 7, who enjoyed the experience. Quite muddy and slippy at places so I recommend proper footwear. A good scramble at the top. Views are awesome!

Great as part of a longer walk around the capital. I walked up and ran down. Quite foggy at the top!

An absolute gem! Only 2 miles from town center but miles away from the crowds. Forest hike with expansive views at old fort. Paths easy to follow. Highly recommend.

Views are just stunning.

This was a breathtaking hike. The best way to describe it is a hybrid between a walk up to the Jedi temple and a scene from the Lord of the Rings. My boyfriend and I (both 28 and decently regular hikers from Colorado, USA) made it to the top of the water fall in 2:30 hours hiking at a comfortable pace. We encountered two rain showers so pack rain gear that will keep you dry enough. We made it with just wind breakers. And don’t be scared off by the rain unless there is thunder (which we never heard). If we would have turned back at rain we would have missed 3/4 of the gorgeous hike. Amazing. Pictures do it no justice.

Easy moderate incline hike with lovely views at the top.

Great hike but depending on your level, it can be quite strenuous. Go to the right when the trail splits at the beginning for level gradually inclining trail but be prepared for steps and a bit of scrambling to make it to the top of Arthur’s Seat. High winds, too, when we went (about 30-40 kph). There are tons of other breakaway trails for alternate views - all are great.
