A well trafficked trail with some elevation but still not terribly difficult on a nice day. Even on the calmest day it’s very windy at the top.

A super easy walk to the castle from the road on a rock path. There will be farm animals but they just hope you’ll share food and pose no real danger. Exploring around the castle can be a bit muddy but on the path you’re good to go.

Gorgeous views, a must if you’re a fan of Harry Potter. The parking can be a bit tricky in this area, even in shoulder season.

Great trail with a good quick elevation climb. The weather can change quickly and conditions can be challenging when this happens. Be prepared for sleet, snow, fog, or if you’re lucky, a fantastic view. Definitely worth your time.

Excellent short hike! A Grand view on a nice day. Lots of well behaved dogs. A must do when in Edinburgh.

Awesome! Breathtakingly gorgeous views at the summit!

Great views of many waterfalls along the well maintained rocky trail.

This was an awesome respite from the Royal Mile, though sometimes as crowded.

Fantastic! Deserves five stars but the lack of trail markings knocks it down a smidge. A solid climb gets you started then a series of smaller ups and downs takes you across the circuit until the final descent. Could actually be described as a five-peak route. That first climb has a relatively well-defined trail, but leaving the peak is where it basically ends. On a day with good visibility this wasn’t at all a problem. But if there’s a heavy fog then be certain to carry your map and compass. I ran it in late June and there were many sheep and red deer along the way. Overall, a truly outstanding route.

Awesome!!!! Can’t beat the views. Good climb.

Excellent path. Some steeper sections on the way up, easy walking coming back down. completely clouded over as we approached the top so can't say much on views but still very dramatic and enjoyable!

Walked today in a clockwise direction. Much easier that way. Beautiful views and a good path.

Beautiful walk down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile! Amazing architecture all the way!

Brilliant walk shame it was extremely windy at the top

I would consider this a more medium hike that a hard one. That being said it’s huge value for the amount of work. The views are wonderful and the path is well marked. There is a little technical foot placement on some of the down hill sections. It did rain on me (then hailed) most of the time but that’s Scotland.

Great view! Challenging when it rains. Enjoyed it amok! Excellent views of the city!

Amazing hike! I'm not an experienced, nor frequent, hiker so this was quite intense. If you do take this on I would recommend a good pair of hiking shoes and a rain jacket! The wind is also pretty crazy at the top, but the views of the city are completely worth it.

Gorgeous short hike for a taste of Glencoe.

Easy route to follow as it's on a ridge. No difficulties by Alpine standards but the rock can get slippy in wet conditions. Best done from East to West - avoid coming off early at Clachaig gully as it is not a pleasant descent. Take plenty of water on a hot day as there is nowhere to top up.
As with any mountain route weather can change the level of difficulty.

Short, beautiful trail that we spent hours exploring! Peppered with multiple lovely waterfalls and rocks. Spellbindingly clear water with many different colors of rocks creates a fanciful atmosphere. Lots of people, not super easy to find the trailhead. Also, a little bit boggy--at once point my whole foot appeared to be below the grass!

Challenging hike due to rugged, steep terrain and difficulty locating trail. Absolutely gorgeous 360 views from the top, so totally worth the extra push through the rocks on the top.

A great wee climb for first time hill walkers and children. I did this with my two kids, 10 and 7, who enjoyed the experience. Quite muddy and slippy at places so I recommend proper footwear. A good scramble at the top. Views are awesome!

Just completed this on Saturday. Loved it .. well worth a go ..

Great as part of a longer walk around the capital. I walked up and ran down. Quite foggy at the top!

A beautiful walk for people of all abilities. This path is also suitable for cycling and trail running. I have walked this many times on my own, with friends and with my children. Cornalees Visitor Centre and the coffee shop are a good place to stop for a break. There are alternative paths back to Greenock, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay to allow you to personalise the route.

A great climb with beautiful views on the way up. Lots of sheep to keep you company if hiking alone. The weather is very changeable as you climb higher. I climbed Ben Lomond on a beautiful May day however the visibility reduced quite considerably on the way up and all I could see was the fog around me. The mountain path climb was quite difficult but the jog back down was awesome.
