my first hike for nearly over 10years, had an amazing day the view wernt the best because of low clouds but what a climb, very rocky at the start but the path gets easier as you go, just keep thinking your nearly there and you'll do it, that's my motto and I conquered it of to snowdan next week then the big Ben Nevis after then hitting irish peaks, I can say the pike got me attached.

Great climb, wall falls! View!

Love this route. Can be very muddy in winter so wear proper footwear. Easy in summer - I did in sandals. Some ups and downs but still an easy walk. Enjoy!

Great walk, great exposure to sun and can see far for most of the walk.

The uphill trail in the middle was good for working out, and a jog down increased the heart rate. Tired by the end, but plenty of places to visit on the way back.

Would go back & recommend going back with friends and family.

Would go for a speedy trek if I wanted to work out... very nice to go, we came from Birmingham and appears to be local.

We wore, meindl men’s Cambridge GTX walking shoe, and salomon 3D 4 gtx womens. 32 degrees clear skies sunny all day

Beautiful trail full of water wonders, woodland and a fantastic ice cream van at the peak. A lovely little trail every time

Fantastic 360 degree panoramic view awaits the end of the hike up.

Pretty easy with a moderate scramble in the middle

Terrible and of no use

For a novice walker this route really impressed me!

Beautiful walk

Nice easy stroll. Enjoyable

An earlier comment lamented at how this trail is incorrectly classified as a moderate difficulty trail, and how it was too difficult for kids and for adults who aren't properly fit. More than 3 hours of walking later, I agree and disagree.

When I started out, I looked at the less than 300m elevation and quietly sniggered at our lamenting friend - 270m over 8.9km is usually child's play.
Having walked up and down from the 3rd floor of my Victorian flat in London to pick up deliveroo several times a day, I was convinced this would be a walk in the park.

And as I walked from Otford to the starting point by a serene afternoon cricket game and a slightly smelly stable, the ground was as flat as some folks think the world is and life looked good.

But the 270m elevation happend all at once, after you're past the first straight. At one point it was so steep that steps were built in. I dragged myself up the slope, each step making me wince while also watched grey-haired veterans make an easy job of it.

The view, however, is worth it - gentle rolling hills follow, walking through farms and meadows which are a riot of flowers in spring (I visited in June). There are woods too, and lovely, dark and deep - on a sunny day, the contrasts between the open and closed sections of the trail are immensely enjoyable.

Having born and raised in India where to be alone is a luxury, it was also a pleasant surprise to find strangers friendly and keen to stop for a chat - back home, we'd do our best to pretend the other didn't exist.

Is this an easy trail for a 110kg 6 foot man who is 31 years old? No, but the juice was worth the squeeze.

Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Lovely walk and great sights of Elham from on top of the hill. Some parts are very overgrown so don't wear shorts!

Such a lovely walk, only took around 3 hours

the views along the route are amazing with great views of dover castle and the white cliffs along the way. the hike isnt too difficult and you can continue hiking past the lighthouse if you would like to spend some more time on the hike. it is about an hour or so to the lighthouse and another back plus time to sit and take pictures. overall a good hike with interesting scenery there is a shipwreck you can see on the shore that is pretty cool as well.

A good trail which follows a signed Coldrum Trail for much of the way with an extension to take in the stones. At least that was our impression, as the markers were not always obvious and we used the app map several times. The stones are worth visiting, what an amazing find. Near there appeared to be a path which could cut the route in half for those that prefer a short hike. We had dogs and other than the Trosley country park itself we had them unleashed for much of the walk.

It was the first hike of my parents both 60 yo. Wasn’t too tiring and they enjoyed fantastic view all the way.

Good morning hike. Set off at 9.30 and back to car for about 1pm. Used to go to blackstone edge when I was little but always parking at the otherside near littleborough. Cool to walk over the high bridge i drive under everyday on the m62 also, I always wondered how you got to it!

My first hike, and what a lovely one I think I will hike way more often after this !

Lovely hike up to Skiddaw and then back via 'Little Man'. Took about 4 hours overall with a few breaks and having lunch at the summit.

Had a great, very warm walk around Loughrigg Fell. I went up to the top while leaving my wife waiting at the bottom. Took about 25 mins to get up from the bench. Overall a lovely, long walk.

Nice walk, great scenery. I followed the app and would rate the walk at least as moderate unless, I went off route. The app performed well, thankfully. It was my only guide, the GPS seems very accurate.
