Nice forest walk
Had a stop at the station cafe due to rain
On our way back finding the way was not easy

Nice easy walk, dog and kid friendly, just keep an eye out for sheep, if you let your dog off the lead. Also if you keep going straight down instead of turning right at to go up bole hill you will come to grindleford train station, where there's a really good greasy spoon coffee shop, that does pints of tea and coffee. Just don't expect espressos and whole grain bread:)

We wanted something for the whole family, and this hike had it all. The Heathersage Moor was delightful with the ferns, cotton grass, flowers, and slightly damp soils. We walked up to Carl Wark, which is an old (iron age?) fort. Then up to Higgor Tor, where the winds were blowing and had great views. Next you walk up to Upper Burbage to cross under the bridges then back along the Burbage Rocks. If you look at the rocks you can see thousands of bullet holes from the Army training drills from WWII. I think everyone was happy with this hike.
