Nice alternative start to Lycian way from Fethiye. Good if you’re keen to go through kayaköy, offers a few beautiful ocean views but not to compare to the rest of the trek.

Long up heading south from Ovacik, but the breathtaking views are worth it. Detoured to Faralya and stayed the night at George House above Butterfly Canyon. A must-do trail.

We did this trail from Kabak to Faralya. Going in this direction, the trail was initially mostly downhill with occasional inclines, until the last 1 - 1.5 hours at which point it became a moderately steep climb. The sun was behind us, which was a nice bonus. There are stunning views of the sea and mountains with opportunities for a quick dip or leisurely swim en route. Hiking surrounded by the scent of pine and sea breeze and the sound of waves is incredible! The trail is about 75% partially shady. The trail is in good condition and well marked with colored markers on rocks, with the exception of 2 or 3 spots where we had to look around a bit for the markers. The trail goes through a few camp sites and lodging, with opportunities to purchase snacks or drinks in some of them.

From the start you get really beautiful views of oleduniz beach and the paragliders coming down the mountain. But what was disappointing is that this trail is actually a dirt road that cars go on (only got about 2 miles in so not sure about the rest), and it’s full of trash. That definitely takes away from the scenic atmosphere.

Beautiful hike with a wonderful view. The start of the hike is not well indicated, but you can easily find based on this map. The first part (ascension for about 2 hours) was a bit difficult with the warm sun and heavy bag, however the rest of the path was pleasant and well marked. We stopped to drink delicious fresh orange and pomegranate juice in a small family place on the way. Overall, would recommend sun screen, lots of water and light bags to enjoy the most. Highly recommended. October was a great time to visit, since we were almost alone on the trail and had perfect weather (including amazing view from thunderstorm from our hotel in Faralya).

This is such a mesmerizing place, words cannot describe it. We did the trail from Kabak to Fethiye. Its not an easy trail but worth it.

Trailhead was difficult to find in Ovacik and we wandered quite a bit before we could find it. Once you are on the trail though you begin ascending up from the town. Be sure to bring lots of water, sun protection, and snacks. Although it passes through some sleepy villages there wasn't really anywhere to buy such things and the wells were all dry. Luckily once we were high enough in the hillside the clouds gave us some reprieve. The trail is pretty well marked, well travelled, and cobble stone. As you descend towards Faralya you go through some forest and the terrain gets a bit rockier.
