This is a great trail with stunning scenery and access to four waterfalls. It can be steep at some points especially when walking down to see the waterfalls but overall very nice. Good boots for slippery surface are recommended.

Hiking

I did this hike back in August 2020. Parking: The parking can get crazy during summer. There are actually two car parks, so if one is full try the other. The trail isn't immediately obvious, but the whole thing is on MAPS.ME. This is such a stunning trail, like walking through a fairytale, and can be likened to nature in Canada! The trail is perfect no matter the weather as it is all in a forest. Each waterfall is different from the last and absolutely beautiful. Wear footwear with decent grip so you can walk behind one of the largest falls. The water is crystal clear, but swimming in it would be like taking a polar plunge. As expected it is a well trafficked trail, but there are nice spots to sit alone and enjoy lunch with a view of the falls. Very easy-going walk, perfect for everyone. This hike, along with Pen Y Fan is an absolute must-do for the Brecons.

Had a great morning. Parked at Cwm Porth car park and paid £4 for parking and £1 for map. Not been here before. We took 3hrs 50mins to complete route but were strolling and not in a rush. Also had a coffee break and stopped for lunch as well. Really quiet today (Monday) as damp and fairly misty - didn't spoil it though. Followed trail in sequence laid out from the car park. This way you save the best for last (just my opinion!) The walking surface was 'man made' until you reach the trails down to the falls. Some walks down are steeper than others. There is some scrambling as well, which we enjoyed. Glad we had good boots. All in all, it wasn't as tricky as I thought, just take your time and enjoy.

Great walk! However had to vitness little dog fell off the cliffside near waterfall. I hope his ok,but it looked really bad,was draging back legs, really in pain. Ovner rushed down to wrap in hoodie and carried him away. Please keep your dogs on the lead where necessary! And look out for yourself, each other and your pets !

We did the 'unofficial' route, which had some slightly more difficult terrain (but not difficult for capable hikers in good weather conditions). Lovely waterfalls, including one that you can walk round the back of. Highly recommended day out.

Amazing day seeing these waterfalls, especially the one you can walk behind. Really easy to follow the signed route markers or to use the all trails map. Highly recommend but expect burning calves from all the inclines/steps back up from each waterfall :)

A lovely walk to see the four waterfalls. We parked at Cwm Porth car park (£4) where there are toilets & a shop. The route is well signposted but you can purchase a map.NB The AllTrails route is slightly different from this car park. Walking boots are essential as some sections of the route are slippery and steep. I’d also advise walking sticks if you have them. The walk took about 3.5 hours, taking a few stops for lunch & snacks.

Lovely walk, with stunning views. Be prepared for parking tickets as infrastructure isn’t great. Or find parking early in the morning or walk in early evening. Apart of that worth to see it again.

Really enjoyed it. Done it with 4 kids of 12, 10, 8 and 4 years of age. Very slippery between the first and second waterfall. Quite treacherous at times. My 4 year old had to cling on to me and was a bit upset at one point. I had to carry her at times to the second waterfall. When they say it’s strenuous then it is. They’re not joking. LOL. Once you pass that point, it was all fun but very steep up to the 4th waterfall then back down countless amount of steep steps and then climbing back up. If you’re not fit, you will struggle and can be painful. It was fun and all worth it. The whole loop with picnics and swim took 5 hours to complete. One of the car park opposite the cwmporth car park charges £5 and you have to be back by 6pm or they’ll close the gate half an hour later. After those steep steps from the 4th waterfall, I had to jog back 2 miles all the way to get to the car park by 6pm and left the Mrs to walk back with the kids. As I was running late. Park somewhere else if you can. Get there early and park at the designated car park so that you won’t have to rush back to your vehicle. Cwmport car park is good and has toilet facilities and sells a map and you have people that’ll advise you of the trail. I parked in the car park opposite which is alright but you have to be back by 6pm or you’ll be in trouble if you’re running late.

We arrived around 11 and were greeted by friendly, and knowledgable staff and plenty of spaces inthe carpark - £4 for the day. Toilets at the car park are portaloos but kept clean. It's a walk through the woods before you drop into the gorge to see all the stunning waterfalls which are each worth the climb. There's space to have a picnic by many of the falls and there were a few people (more adventurous than myself) who were enjoying gorge walking and wild swimming. It's definitely worth heading behind the waterfall where you can although there are lot of people each enjoying their moment with the falls / capturing their selfies moments it still feels pretty special too be behind the curtain of water. The walk can be steep or slippery at times and is a really fun day out.
