There are a few options for reaching the top of Carn Pica, and this one starts from the picturesque Talybont Reservoir. Begin by heading right out of the car park along to the Nant Tarthwynni river and take the bridleway left through the gate. The path heads to the right after a short ways. Continue walking, until you approach Berthlwyd-fach– contkeep walking past the house and then go through a gate and left onto the trail there. Now you may be feeling the burn as you hike uphill and gain elevation. Walk the Twyn Du ridge and then get to Carn Pica. You may be greeted with great views and an epic lunch spot, or the wind might be waiting for you. Either way, when you are ready to head down, follow the ridge, which will bear left. Cling to the edge of the woodlands and take the barely defined path back to the car.
